Rhinoplasty surgery is pretty complex, and most plastic surgeons will tell you it is one of the harder procedures to master. For that reason provider selection is really important. From your pictures, I think your nose is proportionate, balanced, and attractive. I see no strong indication of having a rhinoplasty, but it’s a free world and people can do what they want. I generally do not recommend people have virtual consultation whenever possible. Instead, I recommend patient schedule in person consultations with plastic surgeons in their community. I generally do not recommend people travel along distances for elective surgical procedures. For rhinoplasty procedures, look for plastic surgeons, who have at least one to two decades of experience. Ideally look for plastic surgeons of focused exclusively on this procedure, or those who have a high percentage of rhinoplasty surgery as part of their practice. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients who had similar facial characteristics to your own. An experienced plastic surgeon should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. Being shown a handful of pre-selected images, representing only the best results of a providers career may be insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider, what your results are likely to look like or how many of these procedures they’ve actually done. There’s no correct number of consultations needed to find the right provider. The more consultations you scheduled the more likely are to find the better provider. The biggest mistake patients make is scheduling only one consultation which more or less eliminates the ability to choose the better provider. on a different note if you get lip, fillers done, you may want to consider slightly less emphasis on your upper lip. I don’t mean to ruffle feathers, but your lips have a bit of a treated look. The great majority of people regardless of ethnic background have a lower lip that’s larger than the upper lip. Maintaining a natural lip volume ratio could potentially be an improvement. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
