I'm 5'1 105 pounds and I recently went to my first consultation with a plastic surgeon for breast augmentation. After trying on sizes I decided on 525 and 575 cc silicone breast implants. The implants are smooth and will go under the muscle. I do have a wide set chest and the doctor said the bigger implants would help with that . I do want cleavage and to be about a big C small D cup. I am very petite and am starting to worry the 525 and 575 cc implants will look unnatural on me. Please help:)
Answer: Breast implant size Breast implant size is determined on several variables including Breast base width, skin quality, patient desires, sizing, etc. "Natural " looking Breast is unlikely with disportionately large implants. Everyone's anatomy is unique, but in general much smaller implants would look more "natural".

Answer: Breast Implants - Which implant size fits me best? Hi MelissaDawn2392 and thank you for your question. I think it is important to remember that the most appropriate implant for any patient will be largely determined by the patients pre-operative anatomy, native soft tissue quality, and desired result. It is essential that there is a thorough discussion of the patients ultimate cosmetic goal and any anatomical limitations that exist in achieving it. From what you describe a 525 and 575cc implant does seem quite large but without seeing you in person it is difficult to recommend a specific implant size and profile to best achieve the fullness that you are aiming for. To help patients get a good and realistic idea of what various implants would look like on them, I offer 3D imaging using the Vectra imaging system at the time of a patients consultation and/or pre-operative appointments. If you did not try this, or if the technology was not available, you might want to consider consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon who offers this to his/her patients. I hope that you find this helpful and I wish you all of the best.

Answer: Implants Thanks for the question. Based on the information you provided to us I think that a volume between 450-500cc, silicone implants, placing them under the muscle, will give great results, fully breast with natural apperance. I recommend you a board certified surgeon. Kind regards

Answer: Which implant size best fits me? Thank you for the question. Generally speaking, every patient undergoing breast augmentation surgery should understand that their anatomic starting point will limit the outcome of breast augmentation surgery. Other factors involved include careful breast implant pocket dissection and careful selection of breast implant size/profile. Generally, the size of breast implants you mentioned in your post tend to be too large for patient with your frame size (first-time breast augmentation surgery). Ultimately, careful selection of plastic surgeon and careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, in bra sizers, and computer imaging) as well as careful measurements (dimensional planning) will be critical. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. For example, I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "full C, small D cup" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers. I hope this helps. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Breast augmentation, 525-575cc Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. 525-575cc is a large implant. The size, profile, and shape of the implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue quality. This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACS Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
