Is the internal bra really as good as described in the promotions?

The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reduce and reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying pectoralis major muscle resulting in pain relief without excessive reduction. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained.

Internal bra usually means adding a layer of material such as Galaflex mesh under the skin to support the breast. It is most useful in cases where the breasts have sagged a lot due to stretching of the ligaments and thinning of the skin. Over about 12-15 months it dissolves and is replaced by your own tissue. The purpose is to maintain shape and upper pole fullness.

Breast reduction can be done with or without mesh support. The point of using the mesh is to give added support to the breast tissue. I would disagree with the opinion of the Turkish doctor. If a patient has weak tissue support, such as thin dermis or poor tissue elasticity, that is more of a reason to use the internal mesh support. If the mesh is placed properly, you should not have deformities of the breast. Also keep in mind that this mesh dissolves slowly over time. Best wishes to you.

The purpose of an internal bra is to help support the tissues. This is advantageous when the patient has thin tissues, poor skin laxity, or heavy breasts either naturally or from implants. This mesh is not foolproof, but can aid in giving a longer lasting result to surgery. I've included a video on bioabsorbable mesh that I hope you find helpful.

I still perform my breast lifts without the use of Galaflex (internal bra). I make sure to 'overcompensate' the lift and raise the breasts as high as possible, so when they drop (which ALL breasts do), the position is more than acceptable

It appears to reduce the incidence of capsular contracture, bottoming out and implant displacement. The material (Galaflex) is a biopolymer mesh which is gradually absorbed over a period of 12-18 months, leaving behind a mesh of scar tissue which increases one's natural soft tissue strength.Stretch marks indicate the presence of permanently damaged overstretched skin usually occurring during pregnancy or significant weight fluctuation where when pregnant or obese, the skin's dermal elastic fibers rupture, resulting in the loss of elasticity and the development of streaks on the skin surface. The skin will stretch over a greater surface area and will predispose to further stretching.The material is not without potential risks...infection, seroma, pain, scaffold migration, wound dehiscence, bleeding, hematoma, and chronic inflammation may prove problematic.In our practice, we use the material if there are significant stretch marks of the breasts or if previous lifts have failed due to postoperative overstretching of the remaining damaged skin.Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion.Best wishes...
