Answer: Breast reduction From your description it sounds like you would be a good candidate for a breast reduction. This will remove excess breast tissue and skin as well as lift the position of the nipple. Many women report improvement in neck and back pain after this surgery. The insurance company requirements for coverage will vary by policy. I encourage you to begin by visiting with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more. Your surgeon can also assist you in submitting part of the required paperwork for approval if the surgeon takes your insurance. If you are having issues getting approved you can still have a breast reduction. There are companies that specialize in financing for medical procedures.

Answer: Breast reduction It is hard to determine the grams that need to be removed without properly performing an exam. Breast are composed of both, fatty and glandular tissue. In some females (usually younger) the majority of the breast may be glandular which would make the breast heavier than in a female with mostly fatty tissue. I recommend you are evaluated by a Board certified plastic surgeon who could perform a detailed physical exam and better answer your questions.

Answer: How many grams would I need to have removed to go from a 34E to a C or B cup? Hello @Amarie3711, thank you for your question. When performing a breast reduction, the amount of breast tissue that the patient has must be taken into account. This is in order to achieve the final objective, which is to give harmony and uniformity to the breasts. During a breast reduction, the amount of tissue removed does not always match in both breasts. This is because the amount is subject to what can be found during the surgical process. For more information and recommendations, it is prudent to consult with one or several board certified plastic surgeons. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.

Answer: Meeting with a PS would be next Hi Amarie3711, Your breast sound larger-than most for your frame, and you have symptoms including back/neck pain requiring trips to the PCP and chiropractor. When you meet with a plastic surgeon, it would be helpful to bring copies of your PCP and chiropractor notes--the notes help to support the long standing nature of the problem. Your plastic surgeon will evaluate you, through discussion and physical exam, and make an estimate about how much tissue can be removed. All of this information together goes to your insurance, and they will make the determination about whether they will pay for breast reduction or not. Being prepared, especially from the documentation perspective prior to your surgeon consult, can be very helpful. If your insurance declines, most plastic surgeons perform breast reduction on an out-of-pocket basis as well. Hope this helps! Answer: Breast reduction Dear Amarie3711, breast reduction is best suited for women who wish to decrease the size of their breasts. While there are different techniques used to perform this surgery, I prefer the vertical incision (lollipop pattern) breast reduction technique instead of the anchor scar pattern, which reduces more noticeable scarring than usual. I also use a SAFE liposuction technique to reduce additional fat around the stubborn axilla area and bra line. This way, my patients are achieving beautiful results with minimal incisions which reduces downtime and delivers an overall better breast shape long term.If you are considering breast reduction surgery, you should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and make sure your surgeon understands your goals. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
