Ever since I had a baby, I had some volume loss and sagging. I was told I cannot get breast augmentation without a lift. I am really upset because I was hoping to get by without a lift. I do not want the scarring. Is a breast augmentation with a lift worth it? Do the scars from the lift fade nicely?
Answer: Lift If you need a lift and get an augmentation only, you will just have larger and still sagging breasts. Micro-needling and scar products can be done once the tapes and sutures are removed. Most heal fairly well.

Answer: Scars can be treated with lasers and other treatments to help improve and reduce appearance. Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Implants with lift The lift scars are typically worth the improved shape and position of the breast. Implants only add volume and do little to truly lift the breast. I've seen countless revision consults for patients who were talked into larger implants to try to avoid a lift and it tends to create more problems down the line and larger than desired implants. Everyone scars differently but there are a lot of scar therapies to optimize the scars - gels, tapes, lasers etc. Get a few opinions from board certified plastic surgeons - look at their results and the scarring.

Answer: Scars Dear boymama20, I understand you are concerned with the appearance of scars. As your scars heal, it should flatten out and lighten. Loss of pigmentation or hyperpigmentation may also be experienced but will resolve over time. Always follow your surgeon's post operative care instructions when it comes to scar management to avoid any complications like infection and for faster healing and recovery. Answer: Breast lift scars Your question is a very common concern for most breast lift patients. The healing of incisions can vary from patient to patient. Some people are prone to keloid or hypertrophic scars. I would advise you to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns and expectations. You should discuss with your surgeon what is their preferred scar treatment protocol. It is ideal to avoid sun exposure to incisions as well as use a silicone based scar cream to incisions for the first 6 months to a year. Best of luck to you!
