Hi I had high profile gel implants 15 years ago over the muscle . No issues with the surgery but never liked them . over past 6 months the right one has hardened significantly on the top edge and causes discomfort . I saw a private surgeon for consultation who confirmed it's capsular contracture grade one or two . I want explant with a lift asap however they re saying they are unlikely to do it because of my EDS . I've had no issues with previous surgery. Not sure how to proceed?
Answer: Explant with Bellesoma Method There are a variety of different forms of Ehlers Danlos syndrome. You have not told us which kind you have. Some are associated with wound healing problems than others. You need to document which kind you have. I have operated on patients with EDS successfully. The technique I recommend is explantation and lift using The Bellesoma Method. The implants are removed, the breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Removal the removal of the implants and the capsulectomy should not really be a problem. However, you lift may not hold well depending upon how stretchy your tissue really is. You can try and see how you do.

Answer: Explant and lift Dear Lou Lou Lou, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.
