Hello, I had my breast augmentation on 6/23/22 developed a hematoma in my left breast about 24 hours after surgery. A few days later my doctor opened my back up to drain and clean the area. I had a drain for 5 days. My left breast is more firm than the right I suspect I have a CC. Also, my left breast appears to be smaller than my right and I can feel the implant more. When wearing tops my cleavage is very different. Looking for opinions. I have mentor 450 over the muscle.

Answer: It is capsular contracture but doesn't seem like a severe case. Thank you for your question. The capsular contracture doesn't look severe in the picture, but from what you described, it is judged that there is a capsular contracture around the left implant. If the capsule is not very thick and is relatively healthy, capsulotomy is performed to widen the capsular space, and if the capsule is very thick, capsulectomy is performed to remove the capsule. The implant must be replaced with a new one. In this way, only the left side can be re-surgery, or both implants can be removed and a new pocket can be created using the submuscular plane to insert new implants on both sides. It would be helpful to do fat grafting together to create a more natural cleavage.

Answer: Implant exchange with smaller implants and behind the muscle You most likely have capsular contracture. This occurs when the implants are placed in front of the muscle. Also, 450 cc implants are quite large, heavy and you can see your breasts are low and lateral on the chest wall. I recommend you wait at least 6 months before doing any revision. At that time, I recommend removing the implants and placing smaller ones behind the muscle. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Capsular contracture Dear Genius556378, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.
