I had a lift and 500cc implant. How long before I can have them corrected? I had told my dr. I wanted larger breasts I didn’t want a lift however he said it would be best. I did not realize that they removed tissue from the breast when doing a lift. In the picture I am 2 weeks post op. Now I am 6 and they are very similar to the size I had just firm and lifted now. Close friends say they can’t even tell I had anything done. Just that they seem rounder. I am so upset not sure how to discuss with dr. Will they get bigger after they drop more?
Answer: Will my 500cc breast implants get bigger after they drop more? No. Your implant size will not change--they are what they are. If you gain weight- you may see larger breasts. The only way for you to get larger breasts- is to have a Breast Re-augmenation procedure.

Answer: Will my 500cc breast implants get bigger after they drop more? Thank you for your question & pictures.Your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource when it comes to an accurate assessment of your situation, advice, predictions, and/or meaningful reassurance. Generally speaking, breast implants will "drop" into the pocket that was created during surgery and massaging the implants downward may assist in the dropping of the implants after surgery (for those patients who want to help with the settling of the implants). The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, size of breast implant utilized, and concerns such as pre-existing breast asymmetry. Normally, it takes about 3-6 months (for some patients longer) to see the final result. It is very common for one side to settle faster than the other. From the physiological standpoint, it takes many months ( and even up to one year) to see the final results of surgery. factors such as swelling, tissue contraction, skin redraping, implant shifting etc. come into play. You may be pleasantly surprised wants to be "drop and fluff" phenomenon has occurred. You may also be happier once the swelling AROUND the breast implants dissipates and the implants' shape and projection become more visible. From the psychological standpoint, patients undergo an “adaptation period" during which time they get used to the changes that the surgical procedure I would send has brought about. Severe emotional swings can also occur after any type of surgical procedure. In other words, although I cannot provide you with meaningful reassurance that you will be pleased with the outcome of surgery, I can assure you that your breasts will change over the course of the next several months. Therefore, time and patience will be your "best friends" going forward. Again, best to follow your plastic surgeon for more specifics. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with long-term.

Answer: Post Op Concerns - Appearance of Breasts Hi Jessica226, I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the early stages of the healing process. You will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery. Dropping of implants is part of the healing process and this occurs after the tissues surrounding the implants slowly relax, allowing the implants to settle into their final position. It can take about four to six months for the implant to drop down to their final position. Also, your breasts can drop at different rates. But if you are still concerned, you can always visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns. This way, you will be reassured. Also, if after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss the possibility of revision surgery. Lastly, follow your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions and advice for faster healing and recovery. Answer: Am I going to be bigger? Dear Jessica. Dear Jessica,I appreciate your question very much. You’re only six days after surgery and you have not begun to drop and fluff. It is true that tightening the skin on a breast lift makes them slightly smaller. On the other hand, you also received a very large breast implant which should make a nice difference for you. I recommend to my patients day wait a full year before any revision surgery. Please address all you’re concerned with your plastic surgeon. Good luck!

Answer: Breast implants after a lift Your implants will not change in size at all. The appearance of your breasts may change, but it seems that this would not satisfy you. You probably have to wait at least six months before considering getting larger implants.

Answer: Will breast implants get bigger with healing? The breast shape may change a bit and swelling subsides and implants settle a bit. Overall, your size will most be a little smaller as the last bit of swelling resolves. A 500 cc implant is certainly on the larger side, and even if some tissue was removed, you should have a substantial increase in size. Discuss your disappointment with your surgeon. After you have healed completely (6 months or so), perhaps consider an implant exchange.
