I have seen two PS and one said I could go as large as I wanted and I had decided on 340cc. The second surgeon I saw recommended that without a breast lift that I not go anymore than 240cc or else I would look top heavy and my nipples would be too low on my breast. I would really like at least 300cc and I am definitely not interested in a breast lift! Is the second surgeon correct? I'm nervous to have the procedure now!

Answer: Is a lift necessary?
Thank you for your question and photo. This is a very common question and there can be many different opinions, as you have found. The size of the implant is generally not a big consideration in whether a breast lift is necessary or not. This really has more to do with the amount of ptosis, or breast sag. The position or elevation of the nipple is one of the most important factors to look at. Many surgeons will perform an augmentation and a lift in 2 stages, or separate surgeries, if there is question if a lift is needed. A lift can always be performed in a second surgery if you are not happy with the aesthetics of your augmentation alone. Good luck.

Answer: Breast augmentation vs. breast lift
Your posted photo is inadequate for assessment. A collar bone to belly button bracketing with arms at your sides would allow better assessment of the situation. It is not clear if you would benefit from a lift or are borderline for needing one. If you need a lift with 300cc you will also definitely need a lift with 240cc. You can have the surgery without the lift and then add the lift at another date. Your surgeon should be able to give you an idea of what to expect with different combinations of different types of lifts, implant positions and implant sizes. That is the purpose of and why it is so important to have a face to face consultation before choosing a surgeon.
It sounds like you need to see a few more surgeons. No patient can go to any size they want. Each patient can only go to the size that their body/frame will hold. You cannot put a semitrailer engine in a volkswagon frame.
I hope you realize that this format of posting questions and receiving answers lacks the face to face direct communication required for you to make an informed decision regarding your surgery.
My response to your question/post does not represent formal medical advice or constitute a doctor patient relationship. You need to consult with i.e. personally see a board certified plastic surgeon in order to receive a formal evaluation and develop a doctor patient relationship in order to know if this assessment is valid.
