Hello! When looking to schedule any procedure, I would suggest looking at your day to day activities and what you have going on in your life. Some basic questions my patient coordinator asks are similar to: Do you you have kids? If so, who will be there to help with children while you recover? Do you have an event coming up that you would like to have the surgery done and be fully recovered for? Then work backwards, so to speak, to schedule your procedure so that it is most convenient for you. As far as the surgeons schedule is concerned, various time throughout the year are busier than others so speak with the patient coordinator or office manager at the practice, and they will be able to help guide you through the entire process and make sure you have a wonderful experience and you are able to choose the time you would like. In my practice we suggest calling to schedule a procedure at minimum 6-8 weeks in advance. I hope this helps and good luck!
As long as there are no medical conditions or other issues that would make surgery unsafe or inconvenient for you, you can schedule your tummy tuck at any time. It also depends on the surgeon’s availability.
Thank you for your question. There is no advanced time that you need to schedule your tummy tuck, it really depends on the doctor's availability and what works best for you in terms of having time off after the procedure to properly rest and heal. I recommend going to a few consultations until you find the doctor you want and go from there. Good luck!
I appreciate your question. Your Tummy Tuck can be scheduled at the time of your consultation. I recommend that you speak with patient care coordinator. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery. Best of luck! Dr. Schwartz Board Certified Plastic Surgeon #RealSelf100Surgeon
This really depends upon how busy your chosen surgeon is, and how his or her office functions. Generally speaking, the more time for planning, the easier it is to get the day and time you want.Best of luck!Dr. SubbioBoard-Certified Plastic SurgeonNewtown Square/Philadelphia, PA
Hello and thank you for your question. This is highly variable depending on the practice. If you are an appropriate candidate, a tummy tuck can be done through a low and shortincision, all completely below the bikini line. The belly button can be designed to look natural and have no scars onthe exterior. Your muscles can also beplicated resulting in a flat abdomen. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures ofreal patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluatetheir results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you arecomfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualifiedboard-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D.Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
How far in advance to schedule a tummy tuck depends on the surgeon's schedule and how far in advance they schedule. Find a board-certified plastic surgeon with good before-and-after photos first. All the best.
Thank you for your question. It depending on your surgeon, his office process. Please talk to your PS office for this.
Thank you for your question. Scheduling surgery depends on the availability of your surgeon and the operating room. If you have a particular week or day in mind for your your surgery, it would be best to schedule sooner than later so that you can lock in that time. It is most important to first find your surgeon and then speak with that office about scheduling. Best wishes!
You will find significant variation one practice to another; in some practices, you will be able to schedule surgery within weeks of your consultation. In others several months it may be several months before surgery can be scheduled. Ultimately, the most important decision you do make is selection of plastic surgeon. I would suggest starting with the American Society of Plastic Surgery and/or the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery to obtain a list of well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons. Then, I would suggest you visit a few surgeons whose practices concentrate on aesthetic surgery. ***Ask to see lots of examples of their work and preferably speak/see patients who have had similar procedures done.Be very careful with your decision-making. You will find, while doing your due diligence, that there are many different “specialties” who will offer their services to you; again, I strongly recommend you concentrate on surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. Each person's postop pain management is slightly different. It is best to wean your medication slowly so as to keep your pain controlled as it lessens. I recommend that my patients transition from narcotics to tylenol or ibuprofen when tolerated. To be sure, dis...
It does take time after a tummy tuck for the swelling to settle. As you get back to full exercise you may find the supportive garment is still worth wearing and you do often get some sensations as you describe. Usually anti-inflammatories and some rest should help this acute episode to resolve....
Most patients will be placed in an abdominal binder, which they will wear the first week. There is usually a fair amount of swelling and the binder should be opened several times a day so that there are no pressure points. After the first 7 to 10 days the patient is placed in an elastic garment...
