Thank you for your question. It is not uncommon for patients to have increased anxiety about surgery as the day of surgery gets closer. There are risks to all surgeries as there are risks to most things we do in life. The decision to proceed with surgery must be made after consideration of both the risks and benefits. As a plastic surgeon, I try to help my patients understand the risks as well as the benefits during our initial consultation. However, it is not uncommon to schedule additional visits prior to surgery to help answer questions that the patients think of after the initial consultation. You should schedule another visit with your surgeon to discuss your questions and concerns.I hope this helps. Good luck with your decision!William J. The risk of blood clots within the blood vessels of your body is increased by any surgery. It is increased further if the surgery leaves you temporarily immobile or if it involves your legs. This elevated risk lasts about 6 weeks. While the risk is not high for liposuction and BBL done under local anesthesia, it is not zero. You should avoid activities which increase the risk further such as travelling long distances in a car or plane with your legs bent the entire time. If you must travel, ask your surgeon to prescribe a blood thinner.
HI and thanks for your question. I think you better do some more research. Smart lipo and fat transfers are not compatible. The laser energy destroys the architecture of the fat cell making it useless for the purpose of a tranfers. The other modalities of liposuction, SAL, UAL, and PAL are very useful in obatimg fat for transfer. There are certain measures that can be apllied to reducethe risk of blood clots. You need to discuss with your surgein the specifics. Good luck
Thanks for the question, all surgery regardless of the size has risk of many different things. Make sure you have a long discussion with your surgeon before your procedure
First in my opinion you can not do SmartLipo + BBL. Secondly discuss with your PS all concerns with clotting issues.
You can expect to pay a premium for laser lipo because it carries higher overhead for the center that offers it. Whether it's worth paying more for laser lipo vs other types of lipo that do the same thing equally well is a question you have to answer yourself. However, there's a tendency for...
You should reach your ideal stable weight first before proceeding with any cosmetic surgical body contouring procedure. Being within a normal BMI range dramatically improves your surgical outcome and is safer for you as well. Smartlipo is not a form of weight loss and will not get you down to...
I have all my patients do compression after liposuction and Spanx is nice. For 2 weeks I like a more tighter compression, but underneith I don't see any problems with this. Best, Dr. Emer.
