Hi I weigh 293 and I was wondering if after I have smart lipo how was would I go down in weight I really would like to be 130 if that is possible . I want to get it done all over my body I would like to know a price also if that is once again possible
Answer: Smart Lipo (Liposuction) is not a weight loss treatment This is a common question. Ideal candidates for liposuction and laser liposuction are those who have a BMI of less than 30. Those patients with closer to ideal body weight will have the best results. Liposuction is not an alternative to weight loss as it isn't safe to suction out that much fat. In addition, much of the fat in patients who's BMI is over 30 is visceral (around the internal organs) and this can't be suctioned out- only reduced via weight loss. There are online tools where you can calculate your BMI which is based on weight and height to give you an idea of what your target weight should be to make you an ideal candidate for liposuction. Answer: Not a form of weight loss You should reach your ideal stable weight first before proceeding with any cosmetic surgical body contouring procedure. Being within a normal BMI range dramatically improves your surgical outcome and is safer for you as well. Smartlipo is not a form of weight loss and will not get you down to 130lbs. It is only for localized fat deposits that you weren't able to get rid of through exercise and diet alone. In addition, you will probably be left with a lot of excess skin which cannot be significantly tightened with Smartlipo. Once you get down to your ideal stable weight, you may want to consider a tummy tuck instead as this is more effective in addressing excess fat and loose skin. All the best.

Answer: Liposuction and Weight Loss Liposuction is not for weight loss, diet and exercise is. I have treated many large patient who wanted a jump start to their workout routine and they were able to lose significant weight following the procedure because they were more shapely and had less functional issues. My suggestion is to go to someone with experience doing larger volume cases and to really start a good workout and diet prior to liposuction. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Liposuction/Smartlipo Very good question. Liposuction or Smartlipo is not done for weight lost. This is used for body contouring. I would recommend you to lost weight then consider this procedure.

Answer: Liposuction and weight loss If your looking to get down to 130 then I suggest you go on a diet because liposuction will never achieve that for you. Lipo is best to fine tune areas that need to be reduced or contoured.
