How much is the cost of a Smart Lipo?

I had a consultation at sono bello in Sacramento ca. The price for 3 parts which included my upper abdominal area, lower, and both sides which is as one is $6500.00. My body BMI Is 31 I am just wondering if that's too much because I can almost get a tummy tuck for that? They were very helpful and friendly to me at this office today. I am just wondering if it is going to be worth spending that much money

You can expect to pay a premium for laser lipo because it carries higher overhead for the center that offers it. Whether it's worth paying more for laser lipo vs other types of lipo that do the same thing equally well is a question you have to answer yourself. However, there's a tendency for many centers that offer lipo and nothing else to overreach and attempt to treat cases better handled with a tummy tuck in order to keep the business in the house. You'd be best served by shopping prices at centers which offer both lipo and tummy tuck. That way,  you'll be able to choose the procedure(s) which give the best results, not simply the only item available in a more restricted setting.

Liposuction costs vary by the physician.  Practices in locations with higher overhead costs may also be higher.  We do this procedure as a specialty, three times a week, multiple cases so we are a little more expensive for our experience, expertise, and involvement in research. Smart lIpo costs will vary from surgeon to surgeon and by region but that number for 3 areas sounds reasonable. Smart Lipo will cost more than traditional lipo because the laser fibers are a "one use only" and these are expensive. As far as a tummy tuck, lipo and tummy tucks are two completely different procedures and will give very different results. You need to discuss your goals with your surgeon.

You are absolutely right.  There is no reason to opt for Smart Lipo, or any kind of liposuction for that matter, if you have excess skin that needs to be excised.  A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, is the way to completely rejuvenate the abdomen by excising both skin and fat.  I have seen to many patients who have spent too much on liposuction, only to discover that they should have had a tummy tuck instead.
