Could my compression garment leave permanent dent/lumps on skin? Should I get a different one? (Photo)

Question

I had smartlipo done three days ago and the garment has the zipper on the left side. It's not straight and it lumps up a lot. When I looked at my skin I had a huge lump in the shape of the garment. I want to know if this could leave a permanent lump. I press it down and it goes away, but it comes back since the garment isn't straight. Should I get a different one? The Dr gave me this one. I'm afraid that lump will stay. The other side is fine since there is no zipper. Thanks.

Yes they can, I suggest going to your physician to have a look.  It is best that at the beginning you have a smooth compression so there are no permanent issues.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question. Wearing the
compression garment is important to control any swelling that may occur after
your procedure. Many physicians prefer their patients to wear it for different
time periods, always double check with your doctor. Your compression garment
may be too tight if that’s the case I recommend getting a larger size.
