Topical treatments with anti fungal medications and powders will help, but the rashes and skin breakdown tend to recur. Skin removal procedures to lessen the overhang will eliminate your problem. The best method from a cosmetic standpoint would be to have a tummy tuck. This would remove all of the excess skin on your abdomen and tighten the muscles to make your tummy flatter. If that is not feasible for you, a skin excision of the affected area will at least improve your issue with the rash area.
You have skin rubbing on itself, this is causing irritation. The medical term is intrigenitis, which is skin irritation. You will want to keep this area dry, using baby powder or other products to wick away moisture should help.
Hello and thank you for your question. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues in this area. The short term and simplest solution is keeping that area as clean and dry as possible. Seeing a dermatologist or your primary care for any antifungal treatment needed would also be helpful. If you are seeking a surgical solution, I would consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Depending on your examination and consultation, they may recommend skin removal surgery (either insurance or cosmetic). They can discuss the risks and benefits of both surgical and nonsurgical options for you to help you make a decision that fits your needs. Best of luck to you!
Thank you for your question.A tummy tuck would be a good option for you, as long as you are done having children. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Best of luck.
I would suggest that you schedule an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss options. A tummy tuck could remove the flap of skin, but it only makes sense if you are done having children. You will need to weight the pros versus the cons. Thank you for sharing you question and photograph and I am sorry to hear of your stomach rash. If this rash is the result of the overhang of skin on your stomach, it may be a good option to pursue a skin removal procedure such as a tummy tuck. This would remove your c-section scar and any excess skin and adipose tissue causing the rash. See a board certified plastic surgeon to determine what would be the best treatment plan.
Local treatment with anti-fungal ointments and meticulous care to keep the area dry will treat the current "rash" that you have. Nevertheless, as mentioned elsewhere there will likely be recurrent episodes of this problem in the future unless the primary cause is addressed. The primary cause is the excess skin hanging down and overlapping in this area. This can be treated by simply surgically removing the excess skin. This is an easy procedure and the recovery is very straight-forward. For a more comprehensive solution which would include a cosmetic improvement in the overall appearance of the stomach including removal of all the excess skin, fat reduction, and tightening of the muscles which become stretched from pregnancy, you could consider a tummy tuck. This would address all of these issues and give you a very nice looking flat stomach. Thank you for your question. Immediate treatment of this area would include topical antifungal cream or powder as well as keeping the area as dry as possible at all times by changing out gauze or some absorbent material in the area throughout the day. Ultimately, you will likely require surgical correction of this area to eliminate the overhanging skin. Surgical options include a panniculectomy or abdominoplasty. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.Best wishes!
The overhang needs to be removed for this area to stop holding moisture and develop rashes and infections. This can be done with EITHER a Panniculectomy OR a Tummy Tuck.Consult with a Board Certified Plastic surgeon to find out which may be the better alternative for you.
