Got Botox for a gummy smile and this is the awful result! What happened please? (Photo)

Question

Hi 2 weeks ago I got a botox treatment for my gummy smile (little bit for crows feet) and jaw slimming and a more v shape of the chin. The doctor told me to also use botox for my chin (didn't ask for it but I trusted her) and this is the result. I loved my natural smile so much more. I think she used too much and what concerns me most is my chin. It all feels tight WHEN I smile and my chin doesn't elongate anymore when I laugh which causes a weird chubby face when laughing. What happened to my chin?

I'm sorry you are unhappy with your treatment.  Without more information or a "before" photo it's difficult to say what occurred. Botox effects are temporary and should gradually wear off over three to four months.  I've included a video about neuromodulators that I hope you find helpful.  Always use an experienced injector.

It looks as though the results you received are those that were intended. If your focus was a smile with too much gum showing, that appears to have been resolved. The tightness you're feeling in your chin is not uncommon or anything to worry about. While BOTOX can't be reversed, you won't have to wait long for it to return to its original state if you're unhappy with your new smile. The effects of a BOTOX treatment typically last for three to six months.

It appears that your results are what one would expect after this type of treatment.  Follow up with your injector to discuss your questions or concerns. Results from these treatments are visible within 3-7 days with results that can last anywhere from 3-4 months.

Good Afternoon and thank you for your question. Based on your before/after photo, it does appear that you achieved the desired result expected from your treatment. When Botox® is injected on the chin area the purpose to smooth out the "cobblestone" look. In your case this issue has been addressed however it is normal for you to feel a tightness in your smile as the muscle has been paralyzed. If you are dissatisfied with the results the good news is that it will wear off within a few months as Botox® is not a permanent treatment. I hope this information helps and best of luck to you.

To be quite honest, from your picture it appears you have had the expected improvement from the treatment you described. In my opinion, your results are quite aesthetically pleasing and your gummy smile and dimpled chin have been appropriately treated. Having said this, Botox will resolve in 3-4 months if you are not pleased with the outcome.
