We typically make an assessment for upper eyelid, blepharoplasty with patients having their eyes open.
With the eyes open, the incision is often not visible.
Ultimately, your surgeon is responsible for the outcome of the procedure and you are responsible for choosing that provider.
At 24 years old did you really need to have eyelid surgery?
There are two variables to determine the quality of cosmetic surgical outcomes. The first is the patient candidacy, and the second is the choice of providers.
Often there isn’t much patience can do regarding their own candidacy. If patients do have control over is choosing the right provider.
I recommend patience do this by having multiple in person consultations before choosing a provider.
During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients who had similar characteristics to your own.
An experience provider should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients.
Making sure people have proper certification is important but being poor certified in plastic surgery does not mean somebody is talented at anyone single procedure.
Patients need to take ownership for properly vetting providers before undertaking permanent, irreversible operations.
