Dear Diligent796016,every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
You need to discuss resumption of Saxenda injections with your PS. If you had reached your goal weight prior to the 360 BBL and maintained it for six months, you should not need an appetite suppressant. Healthy people at their ideal weight should have the best overall recovery, but some of this will depend upon the surgical technique and adherence to postoperative protocols. You do not want to jeopardize the end results of your TT which you may not see for 3 to 6 months or impede wound healing. Now is the time to allow your body to heal by eating a well balanced healthy diet with 100 grams of protein a day and resuming exercise as your PS permits.
While there are no contraindications for surgery while on Saxenda, you must be aware of the possible side effects including hypogylcemia (low blood sugar) which could be a very dangerous conditions especially while not being allowed to eat for at least 8 hours prior to any surgical procedure.Make sure to inform you surgeon of all medications you are taking.Dr. T
This is something you should discuss with your primary care doctor or whoever is prescribing the medication and your plastic surgeon. If you don’t have a plastic surgeon then you should have multiple in person consultations and choose one. Each plastic surgeon will have their own protocols and recommendations. Often patients are asked not to take the medication immediately before surgery.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
I have not used drains after liposuction or BBL surgeries as I have not found them to be necessary. The risk for infection with drains may be higher. I try to avoid them unless someone is having a problem with fluid collections
Hello, thank you for your question. You may benefit from a BBL. Liposuction will remove the excess fat on your sides, abdomen, bra rolls, thighs, flanks, and arms. The fat harvested can be transferred to the buttocks to ensure optimal fat viability and projection. I recommend that you schedule...
Hi, Are you referring to hidradenitis suppurativa? If so, were you examined by the surgeon who is doing the BBL or is this a quick flight in and out? Patients should not minimize the huge red flags when you have a procedure planned without an exam and discussion by the operating surgeon. A BBL...
You should be doing weekly RF treatments and monthly BBL skintyte or vbeam treatments. please post photos. Best, Dr. Emer.
Hi, thanks for your question. We recommend that patients be close to or at their goal weight before undergoing a BBL, the primary reasons for this are that you need to be in good health to undergo surgery, but you also don't want major weight fluctuations following your surgery as this can...
Dear Ayay22, generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a BBL, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after...
