What is the healing time for Restylane injections? I have a small event 9 days after. Is it enough time or should I postpone?

Should be no problem - even more is better, but that's a good start.We use a number of special approaches to minimize the risk of bruising for people with a special event coming up.  Microcannulas, certain medications, and other techniques make bruising much less likely.Best of luck!

One should expect redness and swelling immediately after injection of Restylane or any Hyaluronic acid, that will last one to two days post treatment . Since bruising is possible with any injection, it is best to avoid treatment within 1-2 weeks of a special event. I ask my patients at my Washington DC practice to avoid taking medications that can increase risk of bruising such as aspirin, NSAIDs, or fish oil 7 days prior to injections to minimize chances of bruising.

Usually fillers injected into these areas do not cause significant bruising unless you are taking blood thinners.  But no guarantees.

IN general the recovery from any filler injections can be a matter of hours but certainly most of the noticeable swelling should be ablated in 2-3 days.  However if bruising occurs it can take up to 7-10 days to go away .  But of course that is why make up can be so important!

It is not an issue of healing with Restylane.  It is an issue of potential bruising or persistent swelling.  This can be related to where the product is placed and how much is used.  I would probably put off the injection until after your event.

You should be fine after 9 days if an expert injects you. By expert I mean someone with a lot of experience who does this frequently usually a board certified plastic surgeon. A beginner could cause bruising and lumps. Insist on cooling of skin before and after injection to reduce risk of bruising

Technically, yes, it should be enough time. But pretty much when anyone has a BIG event or something coming up and we think it's enough, that's usually when some bruise happens that lasts longer....just inevitably. If this is your first time getting any filler, it's really hard to tell how you will do. It will be up to you to decide how to proceed.
