Surgery is a serious under taking. Careful consideration about the risks and benefits and the goals of surgery are good discussions to have with your surgeon at the time of consultation. Ask your family doctor for a recommendation.
Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us.You can tell that you are going to undergo a surgical procedure without specifying which, since it is part of your privacy. If you need to fill a form where diagnosis and treatment is sought, these fields are filled in codes of the "International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems" (ICD-10), and it is carried to the appropriate department, who know how to interpret.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Hello, some employers will not ask for the exact operation that was performed so you might be able to state that you simply had an operation on your abdomen. Others will want specific information, forms filled out, surgical notes, etc. It is important to understand that if you give your surgeon consent to fill out any of these forms, they must be factually correct.
Thanks for your question. I would also suggest being vague yet honest. If you have to fill out forms you should be honest. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
Well we all value honesty but we also realize the need to have privacy in this world. You could mention having an abdominal procedure, or surgery on the abdomen.
Discussion with your boss is up to you .If you are entitled to short term disability however you might have to supply some details. If not, various euphemisms can work well like having Abdominal surgery but avoid exactly what kind if pressed.
Thank you for your question. What you tell your employer is up to you. If you have to submit something in writing, I recommend that you be honest but you can also be vague. You could say something like 'female surgery.' Most employers then won't ask. If you need to fill out forms that your surgeon must sign or provide information, do not ask him/her to falsify any information for your benefit. They must be honest in completing the forms. I would get the forms ahead of time to find out exactly what information is required. Be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon.

If you have post-operative questions and concerns it is important that you contact your board certified plastic surgeon. Your surgeon will want to answer your questions and address your concerns. Best wishes!
