I am 16 days po of having a full tummy tuck. At night, my back and belly itch something terribly.

Some patients report this itchiness from the binder.  Do you have any kind of rash?  Speak with your plastic surgeon or his nurse, but often times I'll have my tummy tuck patients that complain of itchiness from the binder either change to a  different type of garment or if he wants you to stay with the binder, you might be able to put on a fitted cotton t-shirt under the binder and then this may relieve the itch.

Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us.This problem usually is a contact allergy to the post-op girdle , so I recommend change it for another of hypo-allergenic materials. You should avoid nails wounds to prevent any infection. It would seem that the binder is the problem.  Do you have a latex allergy?  Is the binder latex-free? If the Benadryl and topical treatments do not work, then you need to look at replacing the binder.  Call your surgeon's office and see if they have a recommendation.  There are other kinds of garments that are available.  Some of my patients have found Spanx helpful.  Good luck
