If you desire natural results, it can be attained by the type of filler used and the technique. Filler can range from very soft to very dense. If you are wishing to achieve more height, that can be done by trying to evert the top lip and not by simply placing volume to fill. Additionally, neurotoxins can be used for a “lip flip”. Neurotoxin placed right outside the lip can help flip the top lip upward, which gives the appearance more height. Filler can last anywhere from 6 months to 1 year, while a lip flip may only last 6-8 weeks. You have an apostrophe lip where your vermillions roll inwards. If you want a natural look, a FATMA as well as a medialized corner lip lift would treat it perfectly.

For people who are Caucasian, the ideal ratio between the upper and lower lip is 1:2 (the lower lip is twice as big compared to the upper lip). This is according to a 2017 study published in the JAMA Journal. In this study, scientists took photos of 20 women. After that, they computer-generated 5 different lip shapes for each of these 20 women. Then they asked 150 people to look at these different computer-generated lip shapes for each face. Most participants thought that the women who had a ratio of 1:2 were the most attractive.
In your case, I think that your upper lip is a bit smaller than the ideal ratio. This can be corrected by an experienced doctor. I understand that you are worried that the upper lip may end up looking unnatural and stick out. This can happen if the lip filler is wrongly placed, too much lip filler is injected or if the lip filler changes its place (migrates).
If I was treating you, I would first discuss with you how you would like your lip to look. There are different lip fillers. Most people at a lower lip that is larger than the upper lip. When doing lip augmentation with Fillers, it’s important to maintain a natural lip volume ratio consistent with someone’s baseline. I generally do not recommend Augmenting only the upper lip.
Doing so distorts the natural lip volume ratio.

Most likely you have an overbite dental occlusion.
