Space above upper lip deformed by filler? Any advice on how to fix it? (Photos)

I would recommend dissolving everything again in several sessions, waiting a full 2-3 weeks before refilling, and refilling using a different filler product of your injector's choice.

It is a function of using a low G prime filler. Many of the fillers marketed for lip fill are characterized by the companies as smooth fillers. These are low G prime fillers that function more like liquids and less like gels in the tissue. Companies push these low G prime fillers because they are less likely to form lumps and bumps and companies recognize that most injectors are no good at placing filler. The fix is to use a high G prime fillers. Restylane Lyft actually has a G prime that is a bit too high to use in the lip. However classic Restylane is perfect for this treatment. I recommend firing your current injector and finding an injector who is comfortable using Restylane for the lip. Also less lip volume will help. You do not need more than 1 ml in the lips. Beyond that, with the exception of some individuals, volumes above 1 ml will call attention to the fact that you are getting lip treatment. Less is more.

Thank you for your photos and your question.The lines/shadow could still be due to filler migrating as the lip area is very mobile. It could be because too much was dissolved too or it could be due to skin needing some tightening after dissolved filler.The only way to know 100% if that's filler, would be to find a center where they can use ultrasound to scan the area and see if that shadow you are seeing is actually filler and then it can be accurately and precisely dissolve it.Hope this helps.Have a beautiful day, Dr.Anna Avaliani,NYC
