Most patients and providers start with 1 syringe (1 mL) and let the first session heal before adding more filler. Multiple syringes in the lip at one time can lead to adverse events. If you desire more volume after one session, then you can discuss with your provider when to come back. Typically I recommend waiting 1-2 months before placing more product. To begin, we would inject 0.5ml to build a baseline. I would bring you in 4 weeks later and inject the remainder of the syringe. After the 2nd visit, (1 month) you and I would develop a plan to continue achieving the look you desire. This could take up to 6 months and 2-3ml to achieve the results you want. Overall, this is a slow process in order to prevent filler migration and an undesirable look.
