I had lip fillers more than 2 months ago and i have fluctual swelling of my upper lip. After getting the fillers, everything was fine, i just noticed, that i had more swelling than other people for much longer time, but my doctor said it was normal. The filler used was Juvederm. It really bothers me now, because 80% of time i have slightly swollen upper lip. The other 20% my lips look exactly how i wanted them. I take isotretinoin 30mg, but it should not be the reason…
Answer: Lips I would suggest not getting any more filler for you may have a weak allergic reaction to the filler. More filler may give you a worse reaction. If you wanted, the enzyme could be given to remove most of the filler, or you can let it dissolve slowly over the next year.

Answer: Fluctuating swelling after lip filler Hello, and thank you for your question. Swelling can be very normal the first several days after injection. If swelling persists, this may be more of an immune system response. For immune responses, you could try an OTC antihistamine to see if this helps with the swelling. If it persists and is bothersome, you could have the filler dissolved and potentially try a different filler other than the product used. Although dermal filler is hyaluronic acid, it can vary in the “genetic” makeup of the product. I would suggest consulting with a healthcare provider that can further discuss and observe your concerns in person.

Answer: Swelling Hello adriannna! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Shah Facial Plastics. This is a great question. Juvederm fillers are very hydrophilic meaning that they bring in a lot of water and can thus contribute to the appearance of swollen lips. I highly recommend scheduling an in-person consultation in order to better assess your areas of concern and discuss an appropriate treatment plan to help achieve your aesthetic goals. Our office phone number is: (312) 944-0117. I hope this helps and best of luck!

Answer: Dealing with filler migration or an undesired result after lip filler treatment can be challenging Dealing with filler migration or an undesired result after lip filler treatment can be challenging, but there are options for correction and improvement. Here are some approaches to address these concerns: If you are dissatisfied with the results or experiencing filler migration, consult with a qualified and experienced medical professional injector with expertise in dermal fillers, can assess the issue and provide guidance on correction. I would start with following up with the Provider who initially performed the injection and let them know what your concerns are. If the undesired result is due to hyaluronic acid-based fillers, the use of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid, may be an option. This enzyme can dissolve the filler, allowing for corrections and adjustments. The process is reversible and typically safe. Sometimes, gentle massage by a qualified professional can help redistribute the filler, achieving better symmetry and a more natural result. In some cases, additional filler may be applied to achieve a more balanced and natural look, helping to counteract migration or overfilling. For certain issues, it may be best to wait for the filler to naturally dissipate, as most hyaluronic acid fillers are not permanent. This approach is less invasive but may require patience. To avoid filler migration in the future, work with a skilled injector who understands facial anatomy and uses proper injection techniques. Overcorrection and overfilling can lead to migration. It's essential to remember that everyone's anatomy is unique, and the results of lip filler treatments can vary. Correction and improvement can be achieved, but it may take some time and potentially multiple sessions to reach the desired outcome. Always prioritize safety and the expertise of the medical professional you choose for correction. Hope that helps! ...Lena
