I live in South Florida. I am turning 55 and I definitely need surgery to fix my hooded upper eyelids and possibly some minor work for my lower eyes. I am quite nervous about surgery and would really like some recommendations on who are the top oculoplastic surgeons in South Florida. There are too many advertisements and I feel it is always best to get a recommendation. Please help. Thank you.
Answer: Oculoplastics in south Florida There are many of us in the south florida.. Right in the Boca area you will have at least 3-4 with excellent training and credentials. You should have consultations with a few people to decide who you want to work with, and who has the same aesthetic ideas that you have.

Answer: There are many excellent eyelid surgeons where you live. Really, there is no one best surgeon. Also understand that surgeons, even oculoplastic surgeons come in a variety of flavors. There is no substitute for having a consultation with a number of surgeons and see who makes sense to you. Do not just make a decision based on credentials. For example, no one institution has a lock on best training. So (not to pick on a particular institution) don't convince yourself that someone must be good because they attended a particular ivy league school. Study their website and think about the quality of the consultation. Make a list of pro's and con's to help you make a decision.

Answer: Recommendations For best results I highly recommend removing both excess skin and fatty tissue. Blepharoplasty is a primarily cosmetic surgical procedure that reduces bagginess from lower eyelids and raises drooping upper eyelids. The procedure involves the removal of excess skin, muscle and underlying fatty tissue. As key elements in facial expression, the eyes convey messages of emotion, vitality, and age. Over time, the eyes undergo changes that often make people feel as if they appear sad or tired. The aging process can cause the eyelids to sag and droop, which in combination with bags and puffiness can make you look tired and older than you really are. Eyelid surgery can help freshen and revitalize your face by reducing the appearance of heavy and sagging eyelids, puffiness, and bags under the eyes. While there are several different techniques that a physician can use to alter the appearance of the eyes, the standard surgical technique usually involves removing or redistributing fat deposits, as well as removing excess skin and muscle from regions of the upper and lower eyelids. Procedure may last approximately one to two hours, depending on the extent of treatment. Although you will feel well enough to return to work in approximately a week, you should continue to avoid strenuous activity such as heavy lifting or exercise for at least two weeks following the procedure. Eyelid surgery can successfully restore a youthful, revitalized appearance to your eyes for years to come.
