I had upper blepha 1 year ago & still have very visible scars. My surgeon suggested CO2 laser then I went to another Dr. for laser treatment as my surgeon is far. The new Dr. made me feel like a monster ; he said that laser will not help and the only thing possible is a another surgery to correct the scars ! I have been crying since. Yes my scars look kinda bad but am happy with the result. Who to believe now ? Does laser CO2 make scars disappear? what other alternatives?I worry so much.thanks
Answer: Post-Blepharoplasty Scars Melissa,You may have some improvement with more time, but probably minimal. Your two choices are fractional laser resurfacing of the scars which may help some, or excision of the scars which should hopefully heal better than previously. It appears as though the widening of the incision was due to separation during the immediate post-operative period. Best of luck.

Answer: Upper eyelid scars These are going to be tough to improve. The incision is pretty high here. the scar also looks wide laterally as though the incision may have opened during the healing phase. The lateral scar could be excised and reclosed which would help, but you already have a low brow and this may pull it down even further. Some non-ablative fractionated resurfacing can help to improve scars if you can find someone in your area that has that technology. With time they may also fade more.

Answer: Blepharoplasty Scars : Fractora - successful treatment for them ! Dear Melissa, Thank you for your questions and submitting your photos. When performing blepharoplasty, often times it is necessary to extend the incision past your crease if there is an excess amount of skin. This little spot tends to heal more slowly than the other areas, also because it is more exposed to the sun and because thicker skin is meeting thinner skin at this location. However, do not worry, it will fade with time, (perhaps upto one more year) provided you wear SPF 60 sun block on it at all times along with a special proprietary scar gel. If you want to accelerate its disappearance, you might want to consider a Fractora treatment on it. We have had great results with Fractora in our office on eyelid scars that were referred to us, exactly for this issue. Answer: Blepharoplasty Incision Thank you for sharing your case and photos. Your incision is higher than the typical upper blepharoplasty incision causing it to not fall in your natural eyelid crease. Luckily, noticeable incisions like yours usually fade with time. Make sure to use sunscreen when outdoors to prevent further pigmentation. Vitamin E oil to the area may also help. Consider a consultation with a board certified oculoplastic surgeon to discuss your case. Good luck!
