350, 375 or 400 ccs? (Photo)

In my opinion, based on your ht/wt and breast width, the 400 range in high profile will likely be the best neighborhood.  Ultra high 500cc implant in my opinion will look a bit ridiculous, but there's no accounting for taste, so you'll have to go with your gut on this.

Hi Gabriella. Based on the information provided, I would not recommend anything over 400cc's. I have seen this volume give many women a 32DD cup size. Of course cup size depends on the bra manufacturer. Good luck!

Choosing the right size implant depends on any number of factors all of which require an in person exam. However, in my opinion, the 460-500 are too large for someone of your size, but the final decision will depend on your desired outcome. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Hello,Thank you for your question and photos. "Too big" or "Too small" can be very subjective, however Ultra high profile implants in the range you mentioned will be a more augmented, obvious look for you. My patients find it helpful to try on the implants sizers with a form fitting t-shirt in the office so that they can see the volumes on their body and get a feel for them. 350-475 on a base width between 11-12 will be fairly significant. I recommend that you talk more with your Plastic Surgeon about your Aesthetic goals and Sizes in your range.All the best

Dear Gabrille,  A photo of your breasts without the top would be most beneficial. That being said, based on your height and weight, I doubt you would need anything bigger than 400cc. I would stay with the HP implant. In my opinion, the Ultra HP implants do not look as nice and are generally not needed unless you are going with a much larger implant on a very small frame. This question is by far the most difficult to address in every BA consultation.  Every surgeons approach will be different.  I personally give patients a size range based on the breast width and elasticity.  There is a definite limit on maximum size.  If the size exceeds the soft tissue strength, complications like stretch deformities, malpositions etc occur.  Approximately 200 cc's is one bra cup.  25 cc differences that you have listed between devices is only 2 tablespoons, so you would not be able to see the difference if a 400cc implant was placed on one side and 375 or 425 on the other.It sounds like you want to be fully augmented.  I use Vectra 3D imaging and would measure your Breast Base width and recommend a high profile implant.  If you breast width is 12cm a 400cc implant would be as large as I would go...to see a significant difference you would need to go upper 400's/500 and would significantly increase your risk for complications.About 25% of my breast patients are revision from other plastic surgeons and we are typically reducing their implant size or correcting complications from oversized implants.All my Best!DR B

Thank you for your question and photos.  The 500 cc implants that you have tried on seem to fit your frame nicely.  Ultimately, it depends on what your goals are.  High profile implants give a more "augmented" look than moderate (+) implants, so you will have increased projection.  Try on the different choices and go for what look you like best.  Try not to get too caught up on numbers.  Also, be sure that you have clearly communicated your surgical goals and have chosen a surgeon who is board certified in plastic surgery.All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, Fl

Without a good set of photos, and the benefit of physical exam- it's difficult to comment accurately. Choosing the right size implants is a very important process that has to be done at your Surgeon's office, after measurements are taken, during a thorough sizing process. There's no correlation between the cup size and the implant size- so you have to go by how you feel during the sizing process.

Ultra high profile implants look like volleyballs on someone your size.  High profile is reasonable, but NOT 475cc!! Mathmatically, you only need 100cc to go up a cup size for someone with a 32 inch chest -- so 300cc gets you to a D cup.  Using dimensional planning (which is what I do to keep you from making a bad decision), I'd use something around 365cc in a full profile if your measurements are accurate.  Can you go bigger? Sure!  You're only increasing the risks for every complication you can have.  After you're stretched the pocket, MAYBE you could go even bigger someday, but your first implant sets the tone for your whole life experience with an implant.  Mess it up and you'll be sorry!
