Is there a reason to put one high profile implant and one moderate plus not two alike? (Photo)

My guess is that your surgeon used different profile implants to correct some pre-op asymmetry. However, the best person to answer your question would be your surgeon. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Hello,Thank you for your question. If two different volumes of implant are being used to offset a size difference, then they will often have two different projections when the diameter is the same. Ether the projection must differ or the implant diameter. The dimensions cannot all be the same of the volumes would be the same. Perhaps your Plastic Surgeon noted a difference in your pre op breast projections.Talk to your Plastic Surgeon about the implants you have and why.All the best

If your breasts are not the same to begin with, then often we will use different shape / size breasts in practice to get them to be more even.   Be sure to discuss with your own surgeon about how this applies to you, and whether they have any special concerns in your case.

Sometimes we use different implants in the same patient due to breast differences in size and shape. The profile refers to how much the implant sticks out and thus can vary based on how loose or tight the breast tissue is before surgery.  It takes a few months to get everything to settle and for swelling to decrease so patience is important. Make sure you keep your follow up appointments so your surgeon can monitor your healing 

as things will change still.  Once you are felt to have completed the healing, you can critique your results then.  In the meantime, you should let your surgeon know of your concerns regarding the visible differences.  As for putting in different styles of implants, with my patients permission, it may be done when trying to correct significant asymmetries in size... it all depends on the volume and the width of the implant.

 Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure. Best to ask your question of your plastic surgeon for accurate information; in my practice I use different sizes and/or profiles of breast implants as necessary to improve breast symmetry.  It is not unusual, during surgery to note chest wall asymmetry;  utilization of different sizes/profiles of breast implants for patients with chest wall asymmetries is helpful when it comes to improving breast symmetry overall.
