Question

I had a breast lift and augmentation 3 weeks ago. I am not happy about the shape right now. They are not rounded at the incisions. Will the flat spots fill in as my implants drop?

Thank you for your pictures. That is an odd area beneath your breast. Hopefully within the next 2 1/2 months the way to the implants will help stretch that out. I also recommend massaging that area to soften and loosen the tissue.

Your breasts still look pretty swollen and the implants are sitting high up on your chest. The swelling will subside and implants typically drop but perhaps not enough to fill in the "flat spots" you mention. You should follow up with your surgeon to get his or her opinion about what is going on.

I can see where your concern is, while I can not say for sure what will happen with your anatomy I do find that peoples tissues do stretch and relax with time in most cases

It has only been 3 weeks post operatively.  The areas of your breast that you are concerned about will fill in and correct themselves.  You need to wait and give your body time to heal.  Wait about 6 months and if your breasts still have flat spots and have not dropped, see the plastic surgeon and discuss a possible revision.

Thanks for including a photograph it makes understanding your problem a little easier.  You appear to have had a breast augmentation and a vertical breast lift.  The indentation may be due to incomplete release of the pectoralis muscle if the implants are submuscular.  This may improve over time.   If it does not then you may need a revision.

If you push down on the implants, you should be able to tell if the shape will round it.  I suspect this will get a little better over time, but I doubt it will fill out and be a normal curve.  Be sure to discuss this with your PS.

It does look like your impalnts are still pretty high. They should come down. You'll have to wait and see how the shape changes over the next several months.

My feeling is similar to that of Dr. Seckel. The crease appears to be reinforced,and usually when we do something like that, the rather sharply defined ( and often over done) crease relaxes over time, often within six weeks; irregularities smooth out, and the implants drop. However careful follow up with your plastic surgeon would be time well invested. You should keep in mind this is a little like watching grass grow. Change is imperceptible on a day by day basis, but is often quite dramatic if you review serial photos.Maybe posting another set for  both other patients and for followup to the doctors who have contributed would be of value.Again, if things don't settle satisfactorily over several months, your plastic surgeon will be of the most help. Be patient.

The flat spots appear to be caused by your surgeons attempt to preserve your inframammary crease and prevent bottoming out.My guess is that over the next 3 months the implant will drop and fill out the medial portion of your breast and that the area of the looks flatten out will become rounded.  If it does not a simple revision is possible.
