He made my boobs look a lot better after the implants were taken out. I did not like my puffy veins and large Areolas. The not-so-ideal implants were a bust. Quite literally. He took those ruptured things out, and did a breast lift and patched me up nicely. I’ve gained wait since I had breast implants (115lbs to 150lbs) and my natural breasts are a lot more comfortable.
Dr Gelfant was personable, professional and I am so very happy with my results! I can’t believe the magic he worked on me. Very grateful I found him! Jessie and Kristy were also great and very helpful. Surgery clinic and staff were amazing as well! Cannot say enough good things about my whole experience. Updated on 18 Jun 2024: I did 375cc salines! This is my update from months 2-5 since last time I posted. I have had a couple openings- I was FREAKED out but dr G took the time to FaceTime me and have a look and reassured me that all was normal and advised how to care for the openings. They have no since healed but now I am working on minimizing my scar appearance. I do wish they were closer together and I sometimes think silicone would be softer, but that is something I need to discuss with Dr G more. I do have those couple nit picks but other than that I am still so happy! Best decision I have ever made!
I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Gelfant and his team. From beginning to end they have been nothing but kind, patient and accommodating. I've had asymmetrical breasts since puberty and after years of putting it off I finally went to get a consult and immediately felt that I was in good hands with Dr. Gelfant. His knowledge and skills are phenomenal. I got a breast reduction and fat transfer late April and although I'm still healing I'm super happy with how my breasts are looking. Dr. Gelfant is a miracle worker and I cannot recommend him enough.
Dr. Gelfant did an amazing job with my breast lift and implant surgery. He was very knowledgable and he took great care of me. I really love my results and am very happy I went with him. I definitely recommend him!
I have had many consultations over the years and never felt comfortable going with a surgeon that didn’t really listen. This was my experience until I met Dr. Gelfant. He listened and came up with a plan that would give me the best results even though it meant being open minded about some of the procedure (where to make incisions). I had limited time where I could be off work and his staff managed to get me in when it would work, which was a quick turnaround! My advice to anyone considering breast augmentation is: to find a doctor that you are 100% comfortable with; to be realistic in your expectations; and to be patient with your final results. Some of the advice that I found really helpful from Dr. Gelfant that made a huge difference. Stretching from day one! Not wearing a bra while I was healing. Take the time to rest, listen to your own body and be patient! I was back to simple workouts at 2 wks, a good solid workout routine by four weeks, and back to everything by week six. I am extremely happy with my results.
After nursing two children, hormonal changes in my body, my breasts became misshapen. My daughter recommended Dr Gelfant since she and her friends have used him for different procedures. I am very happy with my results as is my husband. The follow up has been great. The staff have always been courteous and take the time to insure any messages are passed on. I highly recommend this clinic
I could not be more grateful for Dr. Gelfant and his team for the work they did. I had been considering getting a BA for YEARS and finally committed in the summer of 2022. I did endless research on different doctors, sizes, implant type, you name it and when I booked the initial consult with Dr. Gelfant I was still considering seeing a couple of other surgeons in Vancouver. After my consult I was committed, there was no need for me to have my other appointments. Dr. Gelfant was VERY honest and upfront with the results I could expect and definitely didn't sugar-coat anything (which I appreciated). Based on my proportions he advised that I aim for the 325cc-350cc range. Knowing that I wanted lager implants (I am heavily into fitness and my weight can fluctuate anywhere from 15-25lbs whether I am putting on mass or cutting), I requested that we opt for the largest implant he thought would fit well with my natural structure which ended up being 400cc. Pre-op I was a 34B(ish), Dr. Gelfant was able to give me an amazing result with 400cc, pushing me to a 34D-DD (depending on the bra). To my surprise, when Dr. Gelfant was in surgery he was actually able to push out my natural breast pocket, creating more space for my implants, which gave me an even better result! Now 3 months post-op I can easily say that I wouldn't change a thing. My implants are very proportionate and look natural yet 'enhanced'. Dr. Gelfant and team and everyone at the Cambie Surgery Centre are top-notch, highly recommend!
I came to Dr Gelfant after a horrible experience from a prior breast augmentation that ended in an infection and explant - causing a deformity (different surgeon). Dr. Gelfant listened thoroughly to my story and expressed his concerns with my case. He reminded me that we had to be realistic about my results but believed he could help restore my confidence. I was booked for surgery just over a month after my consult. Due to my past experience, I had several concerns come up the week before surgery. Dr Gelfant kindly met with me for an additional in person consult and facetime call to ease my mind. The surgery went better than he expected and his team was efficient and supportive throughout the process. One day post op I had a concern come up and Dr Gelfant took an after hours call to calm me down and reassure me everything was ok. Overall I’m very happy with my results and thankful for Dr Gelfant’s knowledge and amazing work. The bottom of my breasts (the fold area) are a bit different from one side to the other due to my deformity from the infection, but considering what I came in with, he worked serious magic. Definitely recommend!
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Galfant for almost 10 years which is why I continue to go back to him. He’s brutally honest and walk you through each procedure from start to finish. He doesn’t candy coat and his very warm, kind and an exceptional bedside manner: He sees you through every stage of your recovery and I felt safe and secure that my procedure was the right decision for me. Dr. Galfant never recommends procedures that he doesn’t think you need nor will he perform them just to make a buck. He is responsible, reliable, fastidious in his work and genuinely cares for his patients. I feel like family everytime I pop in for Botox with Sue. ( she’s amazing) The staff: Kristy and Jessie are conscientious, courteous and extremely efficient. I wouldn’t go to anyone else. Best Cosmetic surgery team in Vancouver. You will never be disappointed. If you’re thinking about plastic surgery, go for it!! It’s an investment in yourself. You will add to your beauty, I promise you!!
My journey began 18 years ago when Dr. Gelfant performed by breast augmentation. He is such a gifted surgeon, very kind & caring. I loved my results. I had saline implants with no visible scars. At age 59, I no longer desired to have my implants and opted to have them removed for personal reasons. In October 2022, Dr. Gelfant removed my implants with local anesthesia. It was a quick and painless procedure. I am blessed that Dr. Gelfant was by my side every step of the way from beginning to end. He's truly the best plastic surgeon there is!
Hello from Canada, The answer to your question is a qualified yes.We usually do not make incisions in front of the ears for facelifts. My routine incision begins in the temple at the hairline and yes, continues around the ear, but runs from the top of the ear in and out of the nuances of the ear ( "retro-tragal"), leaving that portion pretty much invisible. Older incision designs usually involved continuing down in front of the ear but surgeons have used the retro-tragal design for most patients for decades. The term "deep plane" facelift has been a little misused in the last few years. It was coined by Sam Hamra, a surgeon in Dallas, in about 1992, and referred to not going under just the skin very far, but going deeper ( under the SMAS) very soon after making the incision. This has some benefits and some detrimental effects. In some patients who have good skin, it is the right way to go, but many patients have significant skin looseness and need to have the skin lifted and tightened independently of the deeper tissues ( a "composite" facelift) Proper pre-surgery diagnosis will determine the best approach, but clearly a deep plane facelift is not appropriate for everyone, nor is it anything new. If by your question you really intended to ask, whether this deep approach be done via incisions only in the temple, the answer is no. If by "hidden in the hairline" you actually mean within the hair ( not the margin of the hair, which is the hairline) that incision location is also used along with the extensions I described above. But it results in removal of a segment of temple hair-bearing scalp, elevation and backward displacement of the hairline, and can contribute to an operated upon look. It is a little hard to know from the information you have given, but it appears your surgery was quite recent as there is still some bruising. It is also a little confusing when you write dual plane with fat grafting from under armpit, because you have scars around the areolae. If you are still early the lower breast will almost certainly expand and this will give the impression of the nipple rotating upward; this is especially so with implants put in through the armpit ( I have done thousands of cases through the armpit over the past 25 years). You are best to take your surgeon's advice and give this time. There is no substitute for an in-person consultation with a certified plastic surgeon. Seriaal visits are also veery helpful in assessing a patient's progress Best wishes from Vancouver
Hello from Vancouver; You are still early in your post op process and your implants will likely gradually expand the lower pocket, filling out somewhat laterally as they do. At this point, however, we can see certain features. There is some residual fullness in the upper outer chest which is part of the "axillary tail", breast and fat which occurs in many but not all women. In your case is detracts from the contour of your "breast mound", by giving the impression of a double contour with a concavity in between. Also, the nipple and areolae are still somewhat low on the breast, which may change as the lower pole expands and fills out. A larger volume implant with a wider diameter will likely give you the lateral fullness you desire. However, you are best to wait up to six months before considering revision, to allow the tiisues to stretch and accommodate. In the interim, discuss your concerns with your operative surgeon. You have a good result given the time since surgery, and have been well cared for to this point. Best wishes benjamin Gelfant MD FRCSC
Hello from Vancouver The resident clinic at UBC works as you have described, and every year the residents show the before and after pictures of the cases they have done, with commendable outcomes, as far as I am concerned. You save the surgeon fee and usually implants are donated by the implant company, so savings are significant. With that said, the more complex the procedure, the more experience and judgement play a role in your result. There are two extra variables in having surgery by the residents. You won't choose the supervising surgeon and their judgement/skill as applied to your particular case. And you won't know much about that particular resident's skill and judgement. Some are excellent ( remarkable, given their inexperience) and some are less so.As you note, your case is not straight forward, so you need to consider whether the savings in fees are worth the extra uncertainty. Best wishes Benjamin Gelfant MD FRCSC
Hello from vancouver, While endo brow lifts have a long established record of good results in the right patient when done by the right surgeon ( I have been doing them since 1995), mid face endo surgery is much less successful. Both endo midface lift and sub periosteal midface lift are sub periosteal approaches. Neither produce reliably natural looking outcomes with minimal risk of complications. In my opinion, you are best to undergo a facelift done by an experienced surgeon with a proper, anatomical approach to both the skin and the SMAS-platysma layer. Best wishes,Benjamin Gelfant MD FRCSC
