If I have only one implant that I'm trying to help drop still, will wearing the band across both breasts impact the placement of the other side that's already in perfect place? I'm worried about that one then dropping like too low? I've tried to wear the strap in the figure 8 way just over the one breast but that's not the most comfortable and I also don't know if it's as effective as straight across the top. OP 7/22, revision 4/23. Dropped & came back up.
Answer: Unilateral implant drop Hello, thank you for your question. It is very frustrating for the patient and the plastic surgeon that after placement of an implant that one side is sitting in perfect position and the other is too high. Instead of the band try massaging that area regularly throughout the day. If you are hand dominant on that side it may affect the strength of the muscle. Lastly since you are this far out there is a risk of capsular contracture. Speak to your plastic surgeon about all of this and see all of your options. I do have a youtube tutorial on how to massage implants but again speak to your plastic surgeon prior to anything.

Answer: Breasts Your compression strap should be ok to use on both breasts, but may no longer be very effective. Go back to your surgeon and discuss taking oral Accolate and trying external ultrasound treatments to drop the higher implant.

Answer: Compression band/strap Dear Polite734921, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Breast Strap It is somewhat difficult to give you any advice without further details of what was done for your revision and why you have revision surgery. Also photos will helps us to see what is going on. Wearing a strap across both breast can definitely affect the "good" side and push that down further than it should be. If you are developing capsular contracture, then wearing a strap is unlikely to help. Hope that helps some.

Answer: Implant position It is difficult to say without seeing photos, but hearing your description of having surgery and requiring revision with recurrent "elevation" of the implant sounds like capsular contracture. If you have clinically significant capsular contracture (or even just a malpositioned implant), using a compression strap is not likely to affect the implant placement. Photos would be needed to confirm this, however the best way to have it evaluated is to have a well trained plastic surgeon assess you in person. Based on exam, they should be able to help come up with a solution to your problem-providing recommendations for best next step. Sean FisherAesthetic Plastic Surgeon Seattle, WA
