I have a bit watery lump which feels lovely me a grape in my upper lip after lip filler what could this be and will it go away?

Swelling can be typical. Icing and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

There can be some swelling and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

Lpainter01. It is still too early to be certain, and at least one week should pass before you consider any options. It appears that you may need a minor revision, as the right side looks much fuller. If this is not swelling, some of the material may need to be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Follow up with your injecting doctor. Good luck.

Dear Lpainter01,dermal fillers have significant swelling post injection. I would follow up with you plastic surgeon but typically I tell all my patients to wait a full two weeks.  Generally at 2 weeks they are happy and glad they didn't dissolve.  Dissolving is unpredictable as well.Daniel Barrett, MD

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  It does appear that the majority of the lump is tissue swelling and not filler.  As a result I would recommend conservative measures to improve your symptoms - warm compresses, arnica/bromelain supplementation, sleeping with your head elevated, etc - until your results mature further and your lips heal.  After two weeks reevaluate your results to see if any refinement can be done or if hyaluronidase will be needed to dissolve any filler causing a contour irregularity.  Hope this helps.

Swelling is common after lip fillers.  It can take up to 2 weeks for the majority of swelling to subside.  Be patient, you are only 4 days post treatment!  If you are still concerned after 2 weeks, follow-up with your injector for an in-person evaluation.  Hyaluronidase can be injected into the lip to reverse the effects of the filler.  Best of Luck,

Go and get your filler dissolved and you need to start over. Then I would go to an injector that is more experienced.

You can gently massage the lump to help smooth it out. If this does not resolve in 2 weeks you can dissolve the filler with hyaluronidase. You most likely need a slight touch up with hyaluronidase if the swelling does not resolve after 7-10 days. In the meantime, a slight massage to the area can help. This should be easy to correct as long as it is not a permanent filler. Best of luck! 

This appears like swelling after lip filler treatment. I would give the lips some more time to settle down before judging your results.  If in a few days you remain unhappy with your results, I would followup with your injector.
