I have made up my mind to go in for a revision as I have been unhappy with my implants from day one of surgery. I started a 32AA cup and I got 325 & 350cc Natrelle style 20's. The 350cc implant never dropped and the size is disappointing! I am looking into the style 45's 400 or 460cc. I'm wanting to be a 32D but not bigger than that. Which implant is best?
Answer: Selecting The RIght Implant for Your Breast Revision The most common reason women seek breast implant #revisions are to change their implant #size, and, capsular contracture . Capsular Contracture occurs in about 5-10% of breast #augmentation patients. However, only a small number of these patients experience pain or visual issues that actually require correction. Additional matters of concern which many seek a revision are malposition of the implant, changes in shape and size following pregnancy, weight change and also #deflation or #rupture of an #implant. With both implant types there are choices when it comes to size, shape, and profile. The criteria best to suit you will be discussed in full detail at your breast augmentation consultation. Each implant have their benefits. #SalineImplants is made with a #silicone outer shell that is filled with saline water during the surgery. It is filled with sterile saline (salt-water). Since saline is like normal body fluid, it is safe and easily absorbed if the implants were to leakThe #implant shell is ordered in a specified size which can be filled to a minimum or maximum fill amount. This allows the plastic surgeon some flexibility with sizing during surgery. Often times a woman has breasts which vary slightly in size. If one breast is slightly smaller than the other, each implant can be filled to a different amount to create better symmetry. Saline tends to be a little less natural feeling than silicone, but it can also create a more dramatic upper breast appearance, which some women prefer. A new saline breast implants option called Ideal Implant™ was recently FDA approved and was created for women who are not comfortable having silicone implants in their body, but desire a more natural feeling implant than traditional saline implants on the market. The unique structure of the Ideal Implant allows for a similar look and feel as silicone with the safety of saline. #SiliconeImplants are made with a silicone outer shell and are filled with a gummy-bear consistency silicone on the inside. More women tend to choose silicone breast implants due to the natural feel and appearance. Silicone implants are now made of a cohesive gel which are anti-leak even when cut. Look and feel like natural breasts due to the cohesive silicone gel material. New generation silicone gel implants are far superior than those used in the past and have a proven track record of safety. Silicone implants have gone through more testing than any other medical device and are the preferred choice for over the muscle implant placement. To further ensure the safety, the FDA recommends women have periodic MRI testing to ensure their silicone implants are free from any defects. #Shaped implants are all #textured and should not rotate when used properly. In my practice, about 20% of the patients benefit from shaped implants. Your Plastic Surgeon needs to measure you and determine the best shape and size of any implants that are used. Any cosmetic #revision has risks of unhappy outcome or other complications. Also, the right implant for the revision is contingent on shape of body and your desired outcome. Your procedure should always be performed by a #PlasticSurgeon who is board-certified and has a great deal of experience specializing in cosmetic #surgery. You will then greatly improve your chances of getting the result you desire, and, without the need for another revision surgery. It is suggested that you look at before and after photos of the surgeons actual patients, and read patient #reviews. Gathering all of this information will help you make a well-informed decision.

Answer: Bigger not always better Not sure why you did not revise the higher breast sooner as the other side is fine. Yes you can go bigger and the result will not last as long due to the fact it may be too large an implant for your frame. Good Luck!

Answer: Implants too wide and flat! Getting a revision... Thank you for the question and pictures. You will find that online consultants will not be able to provide you with specific advice in regards to selection of specific breast implant size/profile. Ultimately, careful communication of your goals will be critical. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering revisionary breast augmentation surgery (regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery ( after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers). Viewing the patient's chest wall in the upright and supine positions, with temporary sizes in place, help select the best breast implant size/profile for the specific patient. I hope this, and the attached link (dedicated to revisionary breast augmentation surgery concerns), helps. Best wishes at outcome, you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Bigger Is Not Necessarily Better With Breast Implants The photos appear to show some residual breast asymmetry with a larger fuller breast on the right side. This could possibly be due to less than ideal implant size selections or capsular contracture on the smaller side. Replacing the left implant with a larger size, the right implant with a smaller size plus-minus a capsulectomy on the left side may be in order. A detailed exam is necessary to plan the best course of action. Based on the photos larger implants would likely be too large for your body frame and would look less natural. Good luck!

Answer: Bad idea to go bigger. Better to go smaller. It's not a good idea to go from a large A cup to a D cup size. You will only look distorted. Breast implant size is a lot like salt in food. A bit too much and it may ruin the whole thing. There is a limit to how big of an implant your chest and breast will accommodate. The implants you have right now are bordering on being too large already. The left breast implant is riding high. The right breast looks fairly good. Either reposition the left breast implant, which may not be easy to accomplish or exchange for slightly smaller implants. Going to 400 or 460 cc will only make you look more unnatural and you will most likely have problems over time. I am sure this is not the opinion that you are looking for but it is a wise one to consider. I would advise you to see a board certified plastic surgeon, who will look out for your best interests rather than doing whatever you want just to do the operation. Good luck!
