Is there any Dr that takes Medicaid insurance?

My friend just had a baby 3 months ago and we were talking about the extra belly fat and she wanted to know if any Dr will do a mini tummy tuck, full tummy tuck or liposuction (whichever is needed) if she has Medicaid?

Far more important than the technique is the skill and experience of your plastic surgeon. Choose your surgeon rather than the technique and let them explain why one technique may be better than another.  See the below link on some suggestions on finding the most qualified Plastic Surgeon for you.  Always insist on a board certified plastic surgeon.

Whether a plastic surgeon accepts Medicaid is probably irrelevant. It's highly likely that Medicaid would cover any elective cosmetic procedures such as an abdominoplasty.

and will do reconstructive procedures if indicated.  But you are asking about a cosmetic procedure and no insurance will cover such procedures.  Best to call around and find out what kind of fees you are looking at so you can prepare for this down the road.  Also, newer surgeons may be more willing to negotiate fees to your advantage to help with their 'portfolio' of happy patients as they mature and become more experienced.

No question here, Medicaid is not insurance and will certainly not cover any procedure that hints at being cosmetic.  Medicaid covers what it believes to be medically necessary procedures only.

Many plastic surgeons participate with Medicaid.  Medicaid does not typically cover an elective cosmetic procedure.  A patient should expect that any of the procedures mentioned above would be out-of-pocket expenses, regardless of insurance coverage.
