I recommend my patients wear their garments for a minimum of 3 weeks if not a lot of redundant skin following liposuction male breast reduction to a maximum of 6 weeks. To be effective the garment needs to fit snug but not too tight as to cause pressure problems (inspect your skin if discomfort and when skin is exposed), or prevent you from sleeping. As the edema resolves it is common for patients to switch to a smaller garment that fits - A Spanx type garment would work rather than ordering one or paying more at your doctor;'s office.Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia Reduction) by liposuction requires compression garments for three main reasons:it restricts the amount of edema that forms and hastens its resolution by mechanical pressureIt decreases the amount of bruisingIt assists the loose skin in retracting or shrinking
You should wear your garment day and night for the first three weeks, then in the day only for another three. But listen to your surgeon.
You should check in wiith your surgeon who may specific instructions. In general I allow my patients to start exercise without the vest at three weeks.
Every plastic surgeon differs on their postoperative instructions. I ask my patients to wear their compression garment for six weeks, but you should contact your plastic surgeon's office for specific instructions. Best wishes.
Your plastic surgeon will be your best resource when it comes to specific instructions, which may vary from one office to another. In my practice, I ask patients to continue to wear their garment, as long as they are experiencing swelling, which may increase after exercise. Sometimes, the use of a compressive sports shirt may serve the same function, but be less intrusive/ awkward looking. Best wishes.

Each surgeon has different guidelines for postoperative care. Consult with your surgeon as he or she knows the specifics about you and the scope of the surgery.
