Answer: Gynecomastia Concern at a Young Age There are several common factors which contribute to gynecomastia. These include excessive levels of #estrogen, natural #hormone changes, use of recreational drugs or alcohol, medications and their associated side effects, and, various health conditions. Also, there are different types of #gynecomastia. Particularly, Normal Gynecomastia is usually apparent in males between the ages of 12 to 15 years old. It is also common for older men 65 years old or more who experience a drop in their testosterone levels. #Normal Gynecomastia takes approximately one to two years to naturally regress on its own.Adolescent Gynecomastia is hereditary and usually appears in 30% to 60% of boys between the ages of nine to fourteen. Many cases of adolescent gynecomastia resolve on its own as the boy grows into adulthood. Some with #Adolescent may choose to undergo surgery to correct the situation, this usually happens at the age of 18 or above. In severe cases in young boys, the physician and child development specialists will need to speak to the parents regarding the severity of the gynecomastia and if surgery is an option before the age of 18.

Answer: Gynecomastia in boys I understand your concern. First off your pediatrician needs to check you out to be sure that hormones are not causing this problem. If cleared by your pediatrician, then surgery is a realistic option. Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Teenage gynecomastia The first step in addressing your concerns is to visit your pediatrician for an initial evaluation to make sure there are no underlying medical issues needing to be addressed. If everything checks out fine, the next step would be to visit a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in treating gynecomastia. Depending on your age, he/she may advise that you wait until you are post-puberty. In may cases, gynecomastia will resolve on it's own, however if it doesn't, surgery is the only option for permanently decreasing your breasts.

Answer: Adolescent gynecomastia While many young men have transient fullness of the Breast tissue behind the nipples, it sounds like you have much more than that. I agree with the others here that you should go with one or both of your parents to your pediatrician for an assessment and make sure a hormonal imbalance is not the root cause of your problem. If it is not, then see a board certified plastic surgeon. One of us can correct this through a variety of surgical options. I hope this helps.
