Will microneedling with radiofrequency help with bossae and skin irregularities after rhinoplasty?

Question

Next month will be one year since rhinoplasty. A bossae developed & getting worse. It irritates the skin from the inside which causes the skin on the tip to look thin, red & pointy. There’s other skin irregularities on one side of the nose too (bumps/ dents). At follow up, doc said that micro needling (Potenza / Morpheus $1.5k a treatment) will get rid of the bossae & irregularities by thickening & thinning the skin in different areas. Will this really help? or make it worse?

Bossae are visible edges of nasal tip cartilages that may occur after rhinoplasty, and nasal bossae are more prone in those with this nasal skin. Depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon-1000 nasal injections may be considered for camouflage. Microneedling would not help bossae. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph

Thank you for your question. Microneedling with radiofrequency is very unlikely to improve bossae formation, as this is caused by the underlying cartilage. This kind of treatment can help with thick skin on the nose. However, the bossae are likely due to cartilage excesses.  The treatment is not likely to help the cartilage.  A revision rhinoplasty may be needed. But, photos are the first thing we need.
