Hello I just received my MRI scan results and it’s says :Both breasts of normal size and morphology and symmetrical. Breast prosthesis with superficial folds in left breast with minimal amount of liquid surrounding the prosthesis without signs of rupture. Breast glandular tissue of intermediate density with normal signal intensity, with no nodular areas suspicious of malignancy.I have allergan INSPIRATSF recalled textured implants ,I read about the the risk of developing BIA-ALCL ,thank you
Answer: Implant removal Textured implants have been associated with BIA-ALCL. You have some fluid present but is not significant. However, removal could be done. The question is whether you want removal only or removal with placement a different type of implant or removal and a breast lift? If you undergo removal only, you will be dissatisfied with the hanging skin. When I remove implant I also do a simultaneous breast lift using The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast implant removal If you are interested in having your implants removed you can do so at any time. I encourage you to visit with the provider who ordered the MRI or your plastic surgeon to discuss the results and your concerns. The risk of developing BIA-ALCL is very low, but it is best to address your concerns of necessity beyond a "yes" or "no" response.

Answer: Breast augmentation The risk of ALCL is exceedingly rare. With textured implants and some fluid around the implants it would be a good idea to replace them with a smooth round implant and also remove the capsule.
