Risk of pulmonary embolism or fat embolism causing death from fat transfer to lips? All risks associated w fat transfer to lips?

I usually avoid fat transfer to lip as it is difficult to remove and results in fatty sausage lips!!  It also could result in unevenness requiring multiple treatments.  So over all not a fan.  I have seen too many bulging lips that is difficult to correct and as you gain weight lips enlarge too!! so not good

The risk of embolism to the lung is very rare even with large volume on the lower legs/buttock area.  Into the lips its almost impossible.  I suggest consulting with a well trained cosmetic surgeon who does a significant amount of fat transfer.  Best, Dr. Emer.

The risk of pulmonary embolism from fat transfer to the lips is very very low. For the lips, filler injection are extremely effective and safe, so you can easily choose filler instead.

I have done fat augmentation to the lips for 35 years and the only complication I've ever had is more swelling in some patients than others. Therapist no infections, no embolus, no bleeding issues etc. The risk of a fat embolus would be probably less than driving to the office. 

Risks are inherent to any procedure. Pulmonary embolism and fat embolism is extremely rare, however, is a risk with any liposuction and fat transfer procedure.  Seek a board-certified doctor with experience in the field to discuss the procedure with you.  Best of luck. Just like any procedure there are always risks. The fact is they are very rare risks, but have to be disclosed. If you have a Reputable/Certified Physician, who performs the procedures on a regular basis you are in good hands.

Thanks for your question.  Though fat grafting of the lips can leave a long lasting result (and is quite safe), I'm uncertain why you would choose it over the use of fillers (ie, Juvederm).  The beauty of filler injection is its ease of application (a slightly uncomfortable injection vs harvesting and injecting fat grafts), it's greater controllability and accuracy and the fact that it doesn't require taking the fat from another area of your body.    The patients whom I inject fat for lip enlargement are those already under anesthesia for a liposuction procedure or a facelift where fat is already being harvested.  Perhaps this is part of your plan (the liposuction) but if not I'd stick to Juvederm injection....just my thoughts...
