I have used the hcg diet several times before and am only able to take off 20 pounds. I read a post here that said you shouldn't do the hcg after lipo so I am thinking of doing the lipo after the diet as hcg alone will not get me where I need to go. I am about 50 pounds overweight at 180 pounds
Answer: How to schedule the HCG diet around a lipo or a tummy tuck or a BBL There are numerous variations of the HCG diet. The version I use is the most intense. Three weeks of daily injections coupled with a 500-ish calorie/day diet followed by a three week 1200-calorie high protein maintenance diet. You would be OK to have surgery on the maintenance diet, but not on the injection phase. The reason is that you will heal better with more calories on board and your immune system will be stronger. You would be OK to start the HCG diet six weeks after surgery when the bulk of the healing process is over. However, if you had a BBL, you would not want to do any dieting at all for at least three months to protect the fat that was injected into your booty from starving to death.

Answer: HCG diet and liposuction Hi! You have to remember liposuction is not weight loss but body contouring. For the best results I like my patients to be within 10lbs of their goal weight before a procedure. If you are able to maintain your weight after HCG you should be okay proceeding with surgery. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Diet vs lipo In my experience patients that want liposuction to optimize their shape rarely get the results they want with just weight loss. Diets and exercise can help but usually patients get frustrated with the slow improvement and the lack of shape changes. I agree that liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, but in adequate cases I have seen that the best way for patients to "jump start" into loosing weight is not all the miriad diets on the marked but a great liposculpture that motivates patients to follow a healthy lifestyle when they can see the great sculpted shape that a liposuction gave them. Weight loss is never accomplished by just following a diet, it is about a complete change in the way we eat and how active we are. Hope this helps

Answer: Liposuction Candidate--Body Contouring, Diet, Exercise, Surgery You need to lose weight first before undergoing any cosmetic procedure to get the best outcome. Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, rather it is for sculpting and defining and removing problem areas that cannot be removed with weight loss and diet / exercise alone. For best results, it is recommended to be at your ideal or stable weight before getting a sculpting liposuction procedure. With skin laxity, a tummy tuck or lifting procedure could be performed at the same time. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a bariatric doctor or dietitian. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Lipo and diet In all honesty, liposuction should really be done mostly for problem areas. If, for example, you are generally well proportioned but have one or two areas that need some sculpting such as your inner thighs or "love handles", then lipo will provide you the best results. We have even treated clients who have been Olympic athletes but who still had stubborn areas of fat that did not respond to aggressive exercise. This also suggests that liposuction is best suited for this purpose, rather than as a weight-loss procedure. In fact, I tell clients that any weight loss they may see will likely be subtle. Hope that helps
