Can I lift my child after Smart Lipo and Monsplasty surgery?

Question

Will I be able to Lift my child after having smart lipo of abdomen and having a mons lift? What is the weight limit that I will be able to lift? My baby weighs 23 pounds and I will have to lift him to put him in his high hair and up on the changing table.

There are many ways to do a monsplasty and some have temporary restrictions on certain activities. Ask your surgeon.

I recommend following up with your Doctor about any lifting restrictions after your procedures. For best results with treatments like Smart Lipo, I recommend adding a combination of radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing in order to get the best results. The correct answer to your question is:  it depends.  
If your surgeon removed a large amount of fat extensively throughout your abdomen, you will likely need longer to recover.  Also, there are clients for whom recovery simply tends to be slower, based on their own pain tolerance.
With smaller amount of fat removal, I typically see clients lifting heavier objects within 5-7 days.  This is entirely subjective however, so make sure your surgeon is the first one you consult.

Thanks for your question and each and every surgeon will have their own recommendations on what restrictions and limitations one should do or have after the SmartLipo and Monsplasty.  The SmartLipo is not that restrictive and most of our patients resume some activity as early as 24 hours after the procedure – it’s the other one that will require the most restrictions.

Thank you for your question. SmartLipo recovery generally doesn’t require the same amount of down time as traditional liposuction. Typically, most patients return to work after 2 days. However, I recommend avoiding heavy lifting for at least 1 week. Each patient is different depending the area treated, the amount of fat removed, your genetic tendencies, skin type and natural healing abilities. you should be able to lift your child after Smartlipo to just put them in their high chair etc.you need to ask your dr about the monsplasty since it may depend on exactly what was done during this procedure. This surgery can vary from surgeon to surgeon.david berman md
