Is this skin necrosis? I had Smart Lipo March 9th and these dark spots have appeared. (photos)

Smart Lipo March 9, dark spot appeared Day 2 and now the peeling has started. What is the best care for this? I was told due to low blood supply, which I know the complications of Smart Lipo, but is it safe to just remove the black skin? Will it take longer for the healing because I have to cover it?

This is definitively not normal. You have significant necrosis, hopefully only the very superficial layer of your skin (epidermis) but it could be a full and complete 3rd. degree burn. You really need to contact your surgeon right away. You need specialized care. Best wishes.

Let's start from the beginning. You have a severe amount of elasticity loss and stretch marks, which is very common after pregnancy. You chose to have Smartlipo, when a tummy tuck was the best option, hands-down. You are experiencing skin breakdown for several reasons: Your skin is exquisitely thin and therefore compromised and prone to breakdown/necrosis, your compression was likely placed too tightly, and the collagen integrity was originally not best suited for laser liposuction.
Fortunately, it seems that only the outer skin layer called the epidermis is compromised. Once it sloughs away, you most likely will see healthy skin restored. I highly recommend a cream called Dermend, which can be found over the counter at most major drug stores.  Apply it  3-4 times daily, and do not peel the dark layers. Allow them to peel spontaneously.

This is not normal, and appears to be skin necrosis or a skin burn.  You need to contact your surgeon right away.  If not able, and you have severe pain, fever, or any redness around the area seek immediate medical attention.
