Thank you very much for this interesting question. Yes, it can be performed at the same area more than twice time, it will be harder than the first time, but if the area has fat enough to perform a liposuction it can be done.Kind regards,Dr. Emma Mallol Cotes.-
Thank you for your question! You can have lipo multiple times in the same area. Best of luck!Dr Dhaval Patel Plastic Surgeon Double Board Certified ChicagoHoffman Estates Oakbrook Orland Park
Liposuction under tum. local can be done many times on the same areas and is so safe. If you get it done by a Board certified Dermatological Surgeon, then you probably won't need to get it done much at all since these are the cream of the crop docs for doing liposuction.
Thank you for your question. Yes, liposuction can be done in the same area, but it there may be more contour irregularities and scar tissue to the treated areas. I recommend consulting with a plastic surgeon so they may examine you and discuss with you in person to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.Kamran Azad MD, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
Liposuction can be performed more than once on an area, provided that area has healed. But getting the area just perfect the first time is better than revising it later. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Yes, liposuction can be redone in the same area if you need a "touch up." However, it is best to wait at least 6 months to make sure the scar tissue isn't too thick which would make the procedure more difficult. I recommend seeing a plastic surgeon to see if a revision is needed.
For secondary liposuction cases, using and external energy source such as laser or ultrasound helps break up scar tissue from the original procedure allowing for easier and less traumatic extraction of fat.
Liposuction, by whatever technique, involves removal of the fat. While there are techniques that tighten the skin somewhat (BodyTite, Termi), these are not sufficient to prevent an imbalance from developing as the skin becomes looser and looser when more and more fat is removed. This can cause irregularities, lumpiness, or skin-on-muscle deformity to develop with each successive. These deformities are very difficult to correct definitively and may eventually require lifting procedures by a plastic surgeon. We tell all our lipo patients that lipo in and of itself is not a weight loss tool. It is a sculpting tool. And aggressive or repeat liposuction is to be avoided for the reasons above.
Yes, the same area can have liposuction twice, if you're a candidate. For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermiRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hi definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear Sapfire,in case you have residual fat, you can get a second liposuction. If you are considering a revision surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
