Should I get Juvederm in the vermilion border or not? (photos)

lip Augmentstion is an art that comes with experience of injector and knowing what aesthetic beauty of lips are proportional to what the patient has and is asking.   I have been doing lip augmentation for 20 years and have performed 1000s of them.  When you trust your injector and ask to make your lip beautiful you would show some pictures and discuss your request and get feedback and assess your doctors capability and if you feel comfortable then proceed.  There is a great deal of trust however knowing that not all doctors capabilities are same and some doctors aesthetic outlook and not all doctors standard are same.  So choosing the right "artist" for lips is key.  

You have a beautiful shape to your lips. I think a small amount of filler to your upper vermillion border will be helpful in evening out your upper lip and giving it just a slight projection to match your lower lip. I would use a filler such as Volbella to the vermillion border not Juvederm ultra which I like more to plump the body of the lip. Please consult a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon experienced in lip filler injections. Best wishes.

Yes, you can get filler in the vermilion border to help improve the shape of the lips. I recommend injections with micro-cannulas to limit swelling. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your question.  Injecting Juvederm to the vermilion border will definitely add volume to this area.  However, for more subtle, natural-looking results, I have had even better experience with Juvederm Volbella.  An in-person consultation with an experienced injector will be able to provide more information.

Vermilion border injections can create more of a ledge and a noticeable transition from the skin of the upper lip to the vermillion (red) lip or a "shelf". Some people like that look for a more dramatic lip however some people may feel it is too noticeable. When I do inject in that area, I only only put just a small amount along the border to accentuate the lip in most patients. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD

What most people consider beautiful, young lips have a well-defined Vermilion border. Your upper lip could use a very, very small amount of Juvederm injected to enhance the Vermilion border the way it is in your lower lip. Good luck from New York City

I think adding filler to your vermillion border would look great. The second picture you posted helps me see your current border, and if you want a little bit more of a "ski-jump" ridge to the upper lip, some filler up there would do the trick.
