12 days post-op Juvederm Volite, face is now clumpy. Is this normal? (photos)

Volite, now FDA approved for use in the United States as SkinVive, is a hyaluronic acid that must be precisely injected at the proper level of the skin, the deep dermis. If it is injected too superficially, it can form the bumps that have developed on your face. The product effects can last up to 6 to 9 months. If your bumps persist, they can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. This adverse event should be avoided by choosing your expert injecting physician carefully based on their training, certification, knowledge, experience, skill, and natural artistic vision. I would wait a few more days before assessing final results.  If you're unhappy with your results, you can have the filler reversed. Hope this helps.

Hi,I have indeed come across and experienced more roughness of the skin in the first 2- 3 weeks post Volite. It does settle down, provided the injection was not too superficial. If it still persists, you could consider reversing it, or you can check with your doctor if he/ she can try some non invasive RF to even out the filler.

However, I would give it a few more days before assessing your results as it can take up to 2 weeks for all swelling and bruising to resolve. If it is after 2 weeks please follow up with your injector for an evaluation and to discuss your concerns. Best of Luck!
