Is 1 syringe of juvederm the average amount for lips? (Photo)

I've never gotten then done before. Would 1 syringe of juvederm be enough? I want them to look natural.... If 1 syringe is TOO much could I also use the juvederm on those parenthesis lines?

The "average" amount of juvederm to augment the lips could range between 1 to 3 syringes depending on the patient lip anatomy and goals. for example: small lips may need 2 syringes of juvederm while medium size may need only one. Additionally, if the patient desires to achieve a more defined lip border definition (white roll), this will require in average 1 syringe of juvederm without taking into the account the number of syringes required for the lip augmentation itself ( vermillion augmentation =red portion of the lip)Patients interested in lip augmentation with Juvederm should make a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon specialized in cosmetic plastic surgery procedure of the face.

The number of syringes needed depeneds on the ultimate goal that person wants with their lips.  I suggest small amounts over time even if you want bigger lips and use cannulas to limit complications.  Best, Dr. Emer.

In my opinion, 1 cc would be enough to add fullness to your lips. Yes, it can also be used in the nasolabial folds as well. Be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in injection of fillers.  Best of luck.

Usually less than a full 1 cc. syringe of Juvederm is needed to fill lips, especially young naturally full-looking lips.There are some patients of mine, in my NYC practice that only need 0.1 to 0.4 cc depending on what they need filled. sometimes it's only the vermillion border of the lips and some patients have an asymmetry that only require one side of the upper or lower lip to be filled.

Thank you for your question. I often inject anywhere from a half syringe to two syringes for lip injections. The amount is determined by your goals and starting point.  It is definitely better to be conservative, and then build up as your comfort grows.

Based on your photos, on syringe of juvederm will likely be enough product to enhance volume.  It is important to maintain natural proportion with lip filler and more can always be added.  There are several HA fillers to consider when discussing your desired outcome with your provider.  Trust your board certified plastic surgeon's office to provide you with a treatment plan and product that will help you achieve your goals!

IN our practice, the typical amount for upper and lower lips is 1-1.5 syringes.  If the lip injection is part of a larger area of treatment around the mouth, then the amount is less in most cases.

Hi Kelly23Thank you for your question and photos.  Its always best to start conservative especially if its your first time getting filler in your lip.  Most patients have swelling the first few days to a week.  From your photos it appears you would benefit from having Juvederm injected in the vermilion border of the top lip (not a lot) in the bottom maybe just in the lower corners.  Everyone desires a certain outcome with filler.  It is best to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to find your best option.  Best of luck to you

You have full lips already.  If you want them a little larger, I would plan on having less than a syringe injected...  maybe only 0.5cc.  The rest can easily be used in the laugh lines.  I do not recommend putting a lot in the lips.  It will be too obvious that they are done.  Good luck!
