Following lip injections it is absolutely normal to get some swelling that can look asymmertric for a few days. The swelling could be due to a more traumatic injection on one side, bruising, sleep position or actually more filler on that side. I would give it a good week to see if it evens out and return to the doctor for a "touch up", if the filler is indeed uneven.
Thank you for sharing your question, but it is difficult to evaluate your issues without photos or an in-person consultation. Your probably need more filler in the smaller side or had too much injected in the larger side. Wait 1 week to judge results. If there is pain or redness, see your doctor soon. Good luck.
Thank you for your question. Without photographs it is difficult to make definite recommendations, but if the bigger side was the result of an imbalance in filler placement, some improvement can be seen with gentle massage. If you were to squeeze the area too aggressively, however, it may cause significant swelling, blurring your results. I would recommend some cool compresses to your lips to try and reduce the swelling, and close follow up with your injector to ensure your results are what you anticipated.
If there's great difference after 7-10 days of filler injection, it's best to visit your doctor to re-assess.
Thank you for sharing your problems and posting your photos. Restylane is the best filler for the tear troughs. Juvederm can cause a blue hue and can swell too much. You appear bruised in the lower eyelid region. Your doctor can dissolve the filler with Hyaluronidase and you can be reinjected...
Swelling is normal for approximately two weeks, and most significant for the first three days, after lip injections. Juvederm, a hyaluronic acid filler, is hydrophilic which means the gel has an affinity to retain water and cause swelling. Given that you liked the size of your lips directly...
I suggest waiting 2 weeks to see the results and if they are still irregular or causing any issues, please reverse the filler and use cannulas in the future. Best, Dr. Emer.
Hi Natasha,Best to see your injecting physician for evaluation of your concerns. At this point there is no danger of migration of the Juvederm, but if your symptoms are very bothersome you make wish to have some of the Juvederm dissolved. Good luck and be well.Dr. P
Although not common some people can develop nodules months after injections. Can be inflammatory and occasionally infection. More hyaluronidase is needs for juvederm than for other fillers and may need multiple injections. Go back to doctor and get more.
Every doctor is different. Generally, most will charge the cost of the syringe for touch ups. I would suggest that you call your doctor's office and discuss. Bottom line, he or she is going to want you to be happy with your results. Best, Dr. Nazarian
