Hi I had a consultation with my plastic surgeon for the bbl. My doctor won’t suction my so called banana rolls he said I have almost to no fat there this is how my legs are build my question now is Is it normal that most doctors only remove fat from inner thighs or do they suction also the fat from banana rolls ? I want that my butt overlaps my legs a little bit will I get these results from removing fat on inner tights or is removing banana roll area necessary for this ? Thanks
Answer: BBL candidate Dear anon45092, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Can I still achieve my desired BBL results without lipo to my banana rolls? Hi. It’s impossible to say without photos. Maybe there is more then enough fat in other areas and your surgeon feels there is no need to lipo your banana rolls. This is a delicate area to lipo. Too much lipo on the banana rolls and the butt may actually fall over the back of the thighs…. in extreme cases patients may even lose their but fold. This is because this area acts as a floor or a base for the butt. So careful liposuction can be done without a problem, but overdoing it may be an issue. Maybe this is why your surgeon feels it is best to avoid it. Best of luck, Dr. Miguel Mota

Answer: BBL It really depends on your anatomy and amount of fat in the banana roll area. Most will liposuction around the butt to include this area.

Answer: Banana rolls Hello, thanks for your question. It's not easy to answer without a photo. It's possible that your doctor considers that you will get a good result only with lipo in inner tights. It's very important that you can have good communication with your doctor and trust him o her. If you have a concern, ask for a second opinion after an in-person exam with another certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!

Answer: Treating the banana roll Liposuction of the banana roll is usually a big mistake. The contour is based on a skinfold and rarely represents an issue related to fat distribution. The banana role forms because of skin redundancy in an upright standing position. Any part of your body that has a range of motion will also have corresponding skin tightness and skin redundancy based on that range of motion. The fold and fullness in the lower abdomen during a sitting position is self-explanatory. The opposite happens on the upper back of the thigh in an upright standing position. This skin is tight and under tension with full hip flexion, but becomes redundant, creating a fold in an upright standing position. Just like the front creates a fold in a sitting position. Removing fat from the banana role, does not fix the problem because it’s based on skin redundancy, and removing fat creates a fat distribution deficit that leads to disfigurement Experienced plastic surgeons know better than to remove fat from this part of the body. Inner thigh, Liposuction is technically difficult, and often does not deliver. The results patients had hoped for. It sounds like your expectations may not be lined up with what is possible and it also sounds like your surgeon knows what they’re talking about. Delivering consistent quality, liposuction and fat transfer results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons who truly mastered these procedures are in a small minority. Being board-certified in plastic surgery with years of experience does not mean somebody has mastered any one single procedure especially not Liposuction or fat transfer. Mastering these procedures is only achieved by a small percentage of providers after decades of doing quality work. Patients should be highly selective when choosing providers for permanent irreversible body contouring procedures involving Liposuction. Poorly done Liposuction can leave people disfigured and correcting poorly done work is very difficult and often not possible. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
