What happens to dermal face filler during and after a facelift; should I had dissolved my filler before facelift?

I have had filler numerous times prior to my surgery. The most recent round of dermal filler was about 6 months before my mid-facelift. Should I had removed the filler before the surgery? I forgot to mention to my surgeon that I had recently gotten filler. Will it negatively impact the results? Was it “in the way” of anything, like tissue? What happens to face filler during and after a facelift?

In most cases the filler will have no impact on the surgeons ability to do a good facelift. So you don’t need to try to dissolve it ahead of time.

It is not necessary to dissolve filler before a facelift.  The filler will not be adversely impacted by the surgery or vice versa.  Fillers are frequently encountered during facelift procedures.
